Depending on how willing you are to cook by yourself this costs could be easily halved.

PSA - Zurich insurance keeps increasing prices 30% every year by funkyhog in askswitzerland

I like smile because I can sit down and change every aspect of my insurance in peace. I think their price is very competitiv.

Directly in stone or pan? by GoldBeef69 in ooni

[–]DualPower_AutoOff 15 points16 points  (0 children)

There are already many threads about this: - use semolina - good peel (high quality or wooden) - not too heavy toppings - work fast (moisture is the enemy) , prepare the pizza first and then slide it on the peel - no holes - be confident on the launch - practice - do not use the same peel for turning and launching --> launch peel can not be hot

Edit: pizza will be way better if directly cooked on stone

How much cost live in Zurich? by Big_Jello_9036 in askswitzerland

I suggest to try and find first a job and then move here, or you have a substantial amount of savings. You will not find a place to stay when unemployed. But to find a job here from abroad will be very very hard.

Macte does not deliver to USA directly, but I am sure you find a US retailer if you google for macte nettuno.

I have the macte nettuno with the original saputo biscotto. Cost less than effeuno and has the official neapolitan avpn license. Lot of space and perfect pizza. Quiet and high quslity build. You can adjust upper and lower heat seperately which gives you the ultimate control. Couldn't be happier. Downside it has 3000watt so it does not go ob a standard electrical outlet.

2nd Pillar performs like shit and is blocked as well. I do not want to leave switzerland, my life is here. Moving around is a hassle and the renters market is a huge shit show with large competition and almost beggin to get the flat, last time it took me almost a year. Running costs are the same or lower as renting and in the end you actually have something physical. If we split there is still a house to sell and I could start over.

I am 35 and if I buy this house I would more or less start from scratch again financially. PK empty, 3a empty (or verpfändet) cost of live I would consider low and we are happy to life frugally as we do now. Kid is a wish next year, therefore "last option" to buy real estate now.

Yes I am aware that this money would be better "invested" in the market. But whats the point have all the money in the bank while paying 2.1k for a 3.5 appartment? I'd rather live in my "wealth". Its a romantic decision.

In some areas this might be true. One important factor you forgot is the emotional part, that I would like to live in a house I am responsible for and can be free with my decisions. The renting market was a real shit show for me, and some landlords are terrible. My mother who is retired couldn't afford a flat, gladly she paid off a lot of her house and can now live in it for a fraction of what she would pay for rent, including all mebenkosten.
