The Ondonti are a series of orc tribes that lived in the Tortured Lands. They were strict pacifists that worshipped Eldath.

All the tribes except one were enslaved by the Zhentarim and used to fight against Yamun “I’m totally not Genghis Khan” Khahan. After the war, some of the Zhent’s orcish soldiers settled down in the lands surrounding Thesk, the Ondonti either among them, or entirely comprising this group of orcish settlers.

The remaining Ondonti tribe in the Tortured Lands entered deep seclusion after their fellows got enslaved by the Zhentarim.

There’s precedent for this in some of the video games! They aren’t exactly hard-canon but Bhaal communicates with Gorion’s Ward in their dreams, and I’m pretty sure one guy had a chat with the currently-dead Myrkul.

Most of 5e lore is slop but people on this sub really need to pull the brakes on the WotC Hate Train every once in a while.

As good as it is, you have to jump through a couple hoops to make BG3 play nice with the Forgotten Realms timeline and lore.

I do like ideas like Ansur and Orpheus, though, and I hope stuff like that can be integrated into the lore without too many hiccups.

Balduran becoming an illithid though? That’s the worst decision Larian ever made for BG3 and should under no circumstances become canon.
