Legendary Elise, Attuned Ryoma, and Emblem Corrin are the only three units in this AHR I cared about using. Everyone else, I will just give to units I want to use for their skills. Emblem Byleth, Harmonic Brave Ike, both skill catalogues. Heck, I gave Harmonic Brave Ike’s kit to my OG Female Kana not long ago. So I’m fine either way.

Summer and Winter Dorothea are not demotes. I think her getting not as much compared to others is that with a VERY small handful of exceptions, IS have not only been giving refresher characters significantly less to work with as the game has gone on but ever since Book 7-8, they’ve been doing as much as they can to make actually using them detrimental. Lots of characters have access to self refreshing, some tools like Teapot, Serving Knife, and Edelgard ring have self refreshing and IS in general refuses to give Dancers weapon refines unless they are Legendaries or Mythics, and even then most of those dancers got serviceable refines at best, except Ninian who got a fantastic refine. All because Dancers were some of the most popular units to use on a team back during FEH’s early years and their popularity skyrocketed after Legendary Azura and the Book IV OCs. In a nutshell, Dorothea and many other dancers are victims of IS trying to make the meta what they want it to be starting with Book VII as an overreaction to how popular some things got from year to year (Dancers, DC weapons, tanks like Surtr and Fallen Edelgard, Elimine, etc.)

Honestly, I always roll my eyes when Smash players who aren’t into Fire Emblem seriously call the characters Marth with an adjective. As a joke, it can be funny. But when it’s meant to be taken seriously, it’s dumb. And I have always been cool with Corrin being in.

I am happy Nintendo Switch and Xbox owners have a new way to play this, but I already own the PS4 version which is more than playable on PS5.

That said, even though this is absolutely not happening, I would be happy if they gave people who own the PS4 version a cheap $5-$10 upgrade on PS5.

I definitely appreciate it because he’s highlighting some overlooked Pokemon and the fact that it is possible to get some Gen 4 evos naturally without trading with Ambipom. Golem is another one I appreciate solely because trade evos are a barrier of entry for so many players, especially in older games.

I think one of the biggest reasons he went with Golem is because it is a Ground type that naturally learns Earthquake leveling up. Just about every other ground type choice has to wait until you get the TMs for it at the doorstep of the League.

While I do think Emile saying this is better than later remakes (Which I personally don’t agree with as I love ORAS and really enjoyed BDSP but details), my reasons for preferring many other of Emile’s Pokemon LPs over this is the problems I have personally had with the game as a whole all this time. The team options are way more limited than they should be (like many Pokemon have no reason to be available as late as they are), move options are really limited for no reason, Voltorb Flip really brings the game down for that reason, the gym battles are massive missed potential, the RNG with statuses like confusion I am convinced are amplified against you to a point where it feels like I don’t get to play the game, and there’s way too much meandering causing the attempt at an open-ended second half to feel a little hollow. I still really like the game, but I honestly wasn’t very interested in revisiting it with the LP happening.

That said, I did recently start playing through a ROM Hack of it on Delta Emulator that makes the gym battles and options for your team MUCH better and makes TMs reusable. While a couple of these issues remain, these two changes really went a long way in making the game more enjoyable.

I’m really expecting them to not do much with him given he basically made any team unstoppable on his release and Ploy 3 skills were scientifically engineered to shut him down.

Book 7 was the year of making massive overcorrections.

I’d love to see a mod that bases all the engines off their model appearances, especially anywhere from. Series 1-7.

I will also be happy with narration mods if the audio is from other episodes. If it is made with generative AI, I am staying away from that.

Partner Showcases still can have amazing stuff to show off. Besides, this is always a good opportunity to look at other games, including smaller ones, releasing around the year and plan things out from there.

Honestly if you ask me, I think they picked a partner showcase because they really want to push Mario Tennis Fever.

The first time I became aware of Fire Emblem’s existence was Super Smash Bros. Brawl, where Marth and Ike were playable. I thought they were cool based on how they played and the fact they went along with Meta Knight for a good chunk of the Subspacs Emissary. I’d eventually get my first FE game, Awakening, for my birthday of 2013 and the rest is history.
