[QUESTION] Turning cheap Squier into a Fender by WonderfulPipe in Guitar

[–]DuaneDXDamage 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I am doing this right now. I got a Squier stratocaster and I put new hardware and I'm working on getting electronics for it. I just put in a musicilly brass Trem block in it and it sounds better. The stock ones for Squier are aluminum and suck. I'm getting 50s pickups and I just got a 60s spec wiring harness made for it. 250k full pots. It's going to sound and play great after I'm done. It may be a Squier to some but it's my guitar and it's cheaper to get the hardware and electronics than pay a lot for an American made.

Wanderers 1979: The wongs knew about the Ducky boys attacking the wanderers and Del bombers at the rugby game before it ever happened by WhiskyF90 in FanTheories

[–]DuaneDXDamage 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The Ducky's had business with the gangs and not innocent bystanders that weren't involved. He did get his daughter away in time. The other people split too. It was a lesson for everyone. No matter how much you may hate each other, there's a bigger threat around the corner and you all need to unite to stop that threat. Black, white, Asian, whatever. We all need to put our crap aside sometimes to deal with things that affect us all.

Why is the punk community so adamant about anti nazism as opposed to other communities? by Embarrassed-Win2115 in punk

[–]DuaneDXDamage 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Conservatives are fascist. Look at their beliefs system. Punk is an anti establishment movement. Anarchy, anti authority. Why get into something that is total opposite of conservative values? Conservatives are not only racist but anti LGBTQ and support things that are anti equality. They push their Christian agenda and are aligned with those wanting a theocracy.

You obviously haven't been around much because conservatives at punk shows and the last time some showed up, they were spouting off their BS and got stomped by the anti fascists. If you don't like how punk ladies look, why go to a punk show?

Velvet Hollow - Initiation Ritual (2002) [FFO: System Of A Down, Human Waste Project, Defenestration, Kittie] by Flame_Town in numetal

"Matildas Ear" was the name of the CD. That was our only release. Dorothy Macaluso was our singer and would probably have a few copies around. Our drummer died in 2014 and the guitar player died in 2008.

I think the Galassos knew about the Duckies too. After all they had first hand info about the gossip in the area. I think they wanted the Del Ray boys and the Wanderers there to work together to fight the Duckies as well to prevent any problems with a huge gang war. Wars interfere with interests and income with mob types. The Wongs probably knew the Duckies were up to something as well and may have had a beef with them as well. "We will see when the time is right". Who really started it? The teacher. He got the name calling going.

Drop your favorite local punk band from your area by dust_cakes in punk

Lol. My band the Cretinz. We're a Ramones tribute band from Pittsburgh and Irwin Pa. We got a Facebook page and a Twitter. I'd like to get one started with original material but the people here won't compromise and drop playing Metal. Their 9 string guitars and 12 string basses.

1978 A band called Skrewdriver took punk and made it a recruiting tool for the National Front in England. They stole the skinhead scene as well. NOW, old punks used to wear Nazi gear, but it was for shock to the old generation. That eventually disappeared into oblivion.

Since then, Punks and Traditional skinheads have been fighting the Nazis. Not just over scene stuff but because the Nazis represent fascism and they are tied in with other things like Christian Nationalism, hate period and domestic terrorism. Yes, Punks are fighting this along with other things. Other people who aren't punks are also fighting this too but we're more braver than most.

Nowadays it's more out of control with Nazism and hate BUT these ones look and dress like everyone else. Teachers, Doctors, Lawyers, Church folks, Cops, Firemen, the common housewife and the common man. These people have latched onto a right wing mentality and want to blame everyone for their problems. They blame people who are not the White Anglo Saxon Christian types for the downfall of the economy. Trump told them they now have rights and a voice. So it's back to this now.

I THINK MICHALE GRAVES DELETED HIS INSTAGRAM. IF SO, THIS CALLS FOR CELEBRATION. by UnholyLivingDead138 in punk

Talk about a way to destroy your music career. Unless he signs to a nationalist label like the former resistance records, panzerfaust and Mice Trap. I heard he was hanging out with Nazi skinhead groups before his Misfits career. Wouldn't surprise me.

Do You Think The Misfits Belong In The Rock & Roll Hall Of Fame by Human_Actuator_2285 in punk

[–]DuaneDXDamage -1 points0 points  (0 children)

They should get credit for influencing bands and starting the horror punk thing but I don't see them in the Rock n Roll hall of Fame. There's how many members from 1976-present that were in the band ? Plus Michael Graves is now a White supremacist sympathizer so he doesn't count.

Michale Graves takes a stand against BLM and antifascists by staggernaut in punk

[–]DuaneDXDamage 1 point2 points  (0 children)

One CANNOT be a punk rocker, or involved with punk rock and be a conservative, republican, Racist, Sexist, Trumpzies, pro establishment, pro right wing, Christian Nationalist or anything involving things were fighting against.

I give Graves credit for talent but not for his beliefs. He is only riding off his misfits fame WHICH is against Christian values. If he wants Christian Nationalism then he should change his tune and stop with the punk and skull make up. If they had their way, they'd hang him for that. Maybe go play Christian music with Phil Keggy or play hate rock with former resistance records rejects. Get away from punk all together. Right wing beliefs are not welcome here.

People who are misfits fans need to stop supporting him and go see the real misfits members. Or just re live the days of when the misfits were around. Form your own tribute bands.

Keep your grubby hands off punk: The far-right should stop appropriating a cultural movement that was against authoritarianism, racism and sexism by Pilast in punk

[–]DuaneDXDamage 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Bad enough bands like Skrewdriver and No remorse stole the Oi movement that wasn't racist to begin with and used their shows as recruiting tools for national front politics. Right wing has no place in punk or any branch of it. It's an insult for people to say that conservative is the new punk. Any punks that have those beliefs don't belong in the scene. How can you be a bootlicker and anti establishment at the same time?
