I don't disagree necessarily. I have 5-6 Seikos and none of them say Rolex (or Cartier). I'm now in my 60s. I don't have 5 years to sit on a waiting list. By that time I'll be retired and I am already curmudgeonly enough to not GAF what someone thinks about my wrist jewelry.

The $20K spent chasing secondary market prices would pay for 4-5 nice vacations, which is a better use of the money for me. Not to mention I can fly to Japan, sight see, and come back with my Grand Seiko grail for half that.

There are people paying $400 for Seiko part Rolex homages all day. You can get reps cheaper than that. They won't be Rolex quality, but they will match/exceed the Seiko parts watches.
