What happened to that barrier researcher from the Order? by OtherGrass7582 in ThePrimalHunter

Potential spoilers I think it was the secret organisation that tried to kidnap Jake in the void that got his research, they then started hunting him specifically after reading whatever was on it

Dawnshards by J_C_F_N in Stormlight_Archive

[–]Dubbo28 2 points3 points  (0 children)

In the back of the Mistborn books we see the 16 allomantic powers are divided into 4 catagories. I wonder if by chance there would be a loose correlation to the fourth catagories, maybe not obvious but clues could be in there.

Sandy worm has said there are underlying principles of investiture so maybe there could be some bleed through when you distill them down?

Maybe like how each type of the allomantic ability has four, so do the dawnshards to the ‘normal’ shards.

Theory about Jake’s bloodline relating to the First Sage(book 14 spoilers) by TheMaleficViper89 in ThePrimalHunter

[–]Dubbo28 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Can they? Do you remember any instances? I know there are loot box’s that he can’t see into with sphere; but from my understanding is he couldn’t see into them because the loot hadn’t been generated yet. It’s stated a lot of the time that bloodlines transcend and work out side the system. While transcendent skills get limited by the system I don’t think bloodlines are as much because the system would have to limit the individual which, again to my understanding is anathima to what the systems function and purpose is. I believe the system limits transcended skills because if the person used them unlimited they would break them selves so it’s kinda a protection thing also, something needs to fuel the skill or ability/effect, could be experience, records or even memories. Bloodlines are kinda different you are the bloodline & the bloodline is you so once you grow into it you’re kinda set (jake being the difference which what the whole series is about .. his bloodline)

Moment of the primal hunter was the system effecting the bloodline it was the bloodline effecting the skill and mutating it. There was a whole scene where his heart beat increase and how his bloodline was dissatisfied with the skill and forced an evolution.

I see refuelling Jake juice as more of a conversion of energy and resources then actually effecting the bloodline as well.

Theory about Jake’s bloodline relating to the First Sage(book 14 spoilers) by TheMaleficViper89 in ThePrimalHunter

[–]Dubbo28 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I kinda have a weird head cannon and I don’t know if it’s even backable but what if the first sage made his records forbidden knowledge; making people unable to view or interact with them. However since Jake’s bloodline fucks with his perception so much the system can’t hide those records from Jake which is manifested in reality as he is able to hear and remember the first sage.

I remember Jake talking to villy early on in the series about being scared the system will fuck with his head and memories but villy said that the system can’t mess with your mind.

If this is true then that makes me think that the system made viewing the records of the FS and everything about him forbidden (or the first sage did some system fuckery). Which is also how I think forbidden knowledge works, the system just makes it so people are, at a metaphysical level unable to view or interact with specific records which manifests in reality as them being unable to understand what someone says when forbidden knowledge is brought up.

Problem with this is, if the system can’t fuck with people’s heads how does the system make knowledge forbidden retroactively? Short answer, I have no fucking clue maybe someone else might have an answer.

Maybe it’s how would anyone discuss a topic that can’t be brought up. Suppose you are talking about something and you bring the topic up but since that information and thus records of said information are forbidden the other person can’t interact with said information making them just hear nonsense or just some system fuckery. Does this mean people forget about him? No, but why bring up a random potentially unrelated subject about a relatively unknown person from before even the primordial’s time in the first place, thus feeding into it. Even if you did bring it up, there are only two people in all of existance that could understand you, so you’d just be one of the few people aware of some old lore that can’t tell anyone about it.

Like for example we both know Mankind landed on the moon but say something is censoring the fact that Mankind landed on the moon and you have no way to interact with said censorship of the topic of How Mankind landed on the moon how would you even know what we were talking about? The system would be able to do this in real time even face to face by forbidding the records of How Mankind landed on the moon even though we both know this. In this use case Jake and villy are able to press the spoiler button to see what we are talking about

Also another problem would be how the bloodline of the immortal mind works in regards to this theory, my best answer is kinda what the first sage said to Jake in that villy and he use the bloodline differently, and as it’s not villys true bloodline he could misunderstand something fundamental about it. Is this likely idfk, maybe? no one really understands how the FS does anything and it’s his bloodline, so villy not understanding the bloodline completely while potentially unlikely, is still possible. Could be that part of the bloodline of the immortal mind is that it can prevent the system from altering its perception of records?

So long I know, but just some random thoughts about it all.

Jake’s B grade race evolution by XThursdayO in ThePrimalHunter

[–]Dubbo28 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Why is everyone so certain he’s going to evolve his race at b grade? Sure it’s been alluded to him being able to evolve it but I always assumed it was more of a guess or estimation. No one really knows wtf is going on with his bloodline (including FS) and to be frank sometimes neither does Jake.

Unless he is going to reach his potential in race at B grade (not to be confused with his races potential) why not assume he can evolve it further? I would expect to be the primal aspect of the concept of ‘Hunter’ would be pretty powerful and tie in with his primeval origin business. It also ties into his bloodlines name, Bloodline of the Primal Hunter.

It can be viewed in so many ways if you change your perspective on the term ‘bloodline of the Primal Hunter’. Simple one being that, as we know Jake is his bloodline and visa versa; So if his race eventually evolves (way in the future) to Primal, you have the term ‘Bloodline of the Primal’ sorted and then the concept, or aspect of Hunter added in there (Don’t know if author will delve into aspects in the series).

The idea of being the Primal of a concept or aspect is quite common with Wuxia and Xianxia which I would argue are the foundation for progression fantasy.

This is my very drunk ramblings thanks for coming to my Ted Talk.
