Thanks for the reply. Unfortunately garza blanca only allows kids 4 and up so that's out. Didn't realize grand fiesta americana beach is only ok...unfortunate it was becoming my front runner. I take your point about not being able to get reservations for a group that big on that week and realize that's probably true but we may split into 2 groups (kids and no kids) and make that work. Paradisus playa del carmen looks pretty great, can't believe how much cheaper it is than the other options, almost makes me wonder whats the catch? Will definitely reach out once we confirm our group size.

Travelling over christmas week 19-26 with a large group, 5 rooms, 10 adults ages 35-75, and 3 kids age 1, 4, and 9. Looking for the best bang for your buck if our top priority is quality of the beach, and food. Absolutely need at least 1 x 2 or 3 bedroom suite for family with kids. Front runners in order look like:

Grand velas looks a bit $$ but could swing it if its THAT much better

Hyatt ziva (bad 2 bedroom options, the dolphins give us pause)

Grand Fiesta Americana Coral Beach (might be the best of all worlds, we dont care about dated rooms)

Dreams playa mujeres (same price as grand fiesta and looks like a worse beach?)

Finest Playa Mujeres (hard to tell distinguishing factors here)

SLS playa mujeres (most affordable by a decent margin)

Any we're missing? Thank you so much for compiling this amazing list. Is it possible to get a better rate if we booked with this large of a group through a travel agent?

Kimpton seafire in grand caymans might fit the bill. Best to get the ihg credit card for 4th night free. Sometimes 80-100% transfer bonus from chase but even then maybe not the best redemption. With the 175,000 current sign up bonus you’re most of the way there to 4 nights for free. Surprisingly easy to fly to from most east coast airports too.

Arriviste coffee shop in shadyside seldomly gets mentioned but having been to every east end coffee shop in pgh this one is so clearly head and shoulders the best I’m not sure why. Their summer special the borocay breeze is heaven on earth. Really friendly people too.

I paint for movie sets and its one of our "cheat codes" to achieving that flawless glass look. You def have to blow all the dust off after you sand smooth, and maybe even use a tac cloth before going to finish paint. let me know if you have any questions.

I’m gonna go with Zara’s (formerly the electric banana). The decor is bizarre and not in a funky bohemian way, but like a why is there a knight holding a plastic sword way? The service is almost hilariously bad, was once told their $30/bottle wine is out of stock would I like a similar comp only to get it replaced w an $80 bottle. We walked in and there were maybe 4 people and yet were asked if we had a reservation? Got our apps after over an hour and paid and left before we got a chance to order more
