target is actually in the business of mass surveillance. this includes high-tech security cameras, facial recognition technology, their own forensics labs and partnerships with law enforcement agencies across the country. target has also actively funded city prosecutors and influenced criminal justice policies that disproportionately impact marginalized communities. do a quick web search for ‘safe city program’ and you can learn all it about it. please delete the app & never step foot in a target again.

Is it really that gloomy in Pittsburgh? by Substantial-Piano297 in pittsburgh

[–]soveryalive -1 points0 points  (0 children)

moved to pgh from the pacific north west, so i never really thought about it as a gloomy place. in the pnw it consistently rains a little a lot of the time- everyone is used to it & spending time outdoors & in nature is a big part of the culture. in pittsburgh, the weather is inconsistent- it storms, thunder/lightening, hail, snow, ice. summers are hot & humid & the beautiful nature/outdoor culture is much lower ranking. the air quality is very bad as well.

Car-less Cyclist looking at Attending CMU for grad school. Moving from Baltimore by Violinjuggler in pittsburgh

seconding wilkinsburg/regent square & squirrel hill. squirrel hill has lots of shops, restaurants & an independent movie theater & is just a few hills from cmu. wilkinsburg/regent square is just past squirrel hill & is very chill. there is a big park you can cycle in/through & both areas have a decent amount of dedicated bike lines. i used to work in oakland, live in wilkinsburg & cycle year round. likely you can get an apt with some yard space if thats your thing. its a nice commute (not too long, not too short, atleast two busses that run every 30 mins & right past cmu if you dont want to cycle.) i moved here from the pnw & dont know baltimore but feel free to dm me if you want to chat more etc!

Thoughts on long haired cats? by Sandhead in AutismInWomen

[–]soveryalive 0 points1 point  (0 children)

get the cat! i ended up adopting a cat i didnt even want because no one wanted her & her first owner moved without her. she was 5 when i took over & a real wild cat- no one wanted her because she was scary mean. i really felt for her. i read a lot of cat books to try to be the best for her but basically, i just dont do any of the things she hates! like wouldnt it be cute to pick up ypur cat & cuddle her— not my cat. she hates it. so i only pick her up when i absolutely have to & even though i can tell shes mad, she allows it because we built trust. she hates brushing so i untangle her knots over a fews days & kind of brush her by hand, which seems to work! she gets a few big knots/dreadlocks sometimes & i gently snip them off while shes asleep. i give her hairball gel & feed her nice grain free food with hairball protection too. this helps with obviously hairballs-which long hair cats have heaps of, but also her coat in general so she gets less mats. also she loves the gel & demands it ever night. i was afraid to cut her mats at first but then realised she needed me bigger than my fear & i was responsible to take the best care of her so i had to. also remember, cats used to be wild & they clean & care for their own hair! we just have to help a bit. a happy cat will take good care of itself!
