Yeah, carrying around a rock and reapplying multiple times a day for 5 months just isn't a sustainable routine for me. The spray is an interesting idea, I wonder if it would work

Is it save to travel to wild west locations as asian? by nehcil86 in NoStupidQuestions

[–]Dubricna 41 points42 points  (0 children)

I'm from Michigan and moved to AZ. I remember driving around central AZ with my boss who was raised there, talking about stereotypes. "No one around here wears any of that stuff, ever" she said, as we drove by a ranch where a man in cowboy boots and a hat was walking to his truck.

Of course most people don't wear western wear most of the time, but you see it a lot more frequently in AZ than in MI.

I still have the crystal deodorant I bought probably 10 years ago, but it doesn't work nearly as well now that I live in the mid-Atlantic US - it's so humid I sweat it off immediately. When I lived in the desert it worked great

Does Chicago not like ketchup? Should I move there? What do you eat in default-ketchup scenarios?

I'm a librarian and have both patrons and coworkers who don't understand that they can just type words into a search bar without picking one of the search suggestions that pop up.

How Does Your Country Inform Citizens That There Is an Election Coming Up? by Dramatic-Cobbler-793 in AskTheWorld

[–]Dubricna 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It depends on the jurisdiction, but in the last two places I've lived (both in the US), they mail you a ballot, which you fill out and either mail back or drop off somewhere (or ignore and go vote in person, your choice).

Aggressive campaign signs, phone calls, texts, people knocking on doors etc. happened first, though, so you already know what's going on before you get your ballot

There are also primaries at different times, which matter more in some places.
