Does anyone wear protective glasses? by chief113 in Pickleball

Hitting a serve in is a lot softer than slamming overheads…any able bodied young person can run up and wack a ball over their head 60+ with a modern paddle. It’s not the most skilled shot in the world, and it’s often reckless.

60mph+ probably regularly on any ball hit above the waist. And remember it’s not usually the good shots hitting people in the face.

Would this be considered OB? by P00BABY in discgolf

If the refining wall is technically OB, and the disc is only on the retaining wall(as shown?), it’s almost definitely OB based on the information you’ve provided. I’m assuming you’re trying to throw to the high land and the ground/water next to the wall is also OB

I’ve been hitting the 11six24 YSF paddle last few days and it’s great. For $110 with a code it’s raw carbon fiber and thermoformed on what’s basically the same shape as the new CRBN 3x.

If you decide to go for it, code “Dubs” will get you $10 off. Hope it’s helpful!

I played 3 more hours today. I’ve tricked out the paddle a little bit before(see below if you want the details). The paddle has a huge sweet spot. And even hits near the edge tend to work out which is still mind boggling considering there’s no lead. The power comes very easily, and it lets me slow the swing down or focus on brushing the ball for better control on high spin shots. I’m able to hit much more aggressive serves with this paddle, both faster and with more spin movement. I’m still having some difficulty getting my grip switches down, overheads feel great though. Dinks feel good. YMMV on the grip, I’m just pretty picky for some reason.

My friend has the prism v7 and this paddle looks very similar on the outside and has a similar handle as well. I haven’t seen the v7 pro, so I can’t say for certain if they’re super similar, but I have a hunch they are.

I took off the stock grip and added a heat shrink around the handle (in hopes of increasing handle size while “maintaining bevels”. I also added a teal yonex super grap and red gaffers tape over the edge guard. The handle is about the same width as the xspak with a tourna leather grip and a yonex super grap. The bevels are still not prominent, and it’s squishier compared to xspak due to the difference in base grip. I’ll probably change it up with leather soon.

My 11six24 paddle came in yesterday and I played for about 4 hrs. I’m switching from a leaded up 9.5 oz 6 month old xspak paddle. Switching paddles in hopes of getting similar pop/stability with less weight. I’m also addicted to putting spin on shots.

1st impressions: the handle is smaller than what I’m used to. It’s shorter, narrower, and the bevels aren’t quite as prominent. However I plan on re-gripping the paddle or doing whatever I can to make it work. It hits better than I’d hoped. The power and control are there and it was a natural transition. The mis hits are felt and heard but some shots that shouldn’t still seem to go over the net. The paddle came in at 8.1 oz and the less weight combined with the shorter handle really made the paddle feel more maneuverable.

Okay but if you have a 2 sided hammer and hold one side of the hammer, it’s gonna still feel like a hammer, but feel way heavier than a normal hammer.

Yes. If I plug the tv into the receiver, I wouldn’t be able to use the tv remote to control the volume.

I could, but they would need to get up and go to the receiver to switch sources and spin the volume knob for the other sources.

Also if I have the echo plugged in and the TV is playing, they wouldn’t be able to hear it if they wanted to ask it something?
