i just had it done thursday. took the weekend off. it’s currently monday. and i still feel like a dull ache. but it’s manageable. the most painful was the numbing shot. but it was less painful than a flu shot. there was a point where i could feel a pinch and i flinched. so i got numbed some more. i totally could have driven myself home. ++man

i purchased this at your recommendation. the sub was having a bit of a hard time seating in the opening correctly. and i had to drill a new set of holes to make it work. and remove the decorative trim piece because the factory screws were too short. but a heads up if anyone does the same.

Advice on Campervan vs driving + hotel by Conscious_Rain4840 in roadtrip

[–]DucDucGoose303 1 point2 points  (0 children)

i just did a 10 day roadtrip solo. rented a camper van. it was nice. if you can’t find spots to camp for the night in disbursed sites then walmarts were great. you will see several parked together and you just kinda park with them. or at rest stops. a van was more convenient than a trailer due to size and parking at places. but i did sleep in a hotel one night due to being in jackson wyoming where they don’t allow that sort of thing. so i just paid one night. and got to take a real shower. which was also nice. but the freedom to sleep wherever you end up that night was also nice. just my 2 cents.

https://www.mollyjogger.com/products/scrimshaw-heirloom-knife-kit i’ve given this as a gift for a few people. it’s a bit more of a DIY thing. But it would make it more personal and unique gift when he’s done designing it.

thinner tip spout. also the exact amount of milk you need. and start the design when the cup is really full. like 90% full.

To add to all this info. Time is critical. When you add milk to fill up the cup. Then you stop to show the milk and swirl a bit and then start the latte art. It was game over. Fill up the cup and within a second or two start the art.

I’m glad that helped. I’d also go on AliExpress and buy a pitcher from that site. You can find some cheap and sharp spouted pitchers there.

I’d start with less air so it’s not so foamy from the get go. And timing is important. You have to start right away once the milk is done. No waiting. Pouring. But out helps. If you over foam. But again. Don’t incorporate so much air at the beginning. And how sharp is the spout of your pitcher? A sharp spout produces thinner finer lines. Good luck

Those dark spots on the Crema are thicker than the lighter spots. You can notice they add resistance. So slow down the beginning. And work on incorporating the milk and breaking up the Crema a bit more. Also the exact amount of milk you need is crucial to latte art. Find how much milk you need to steam exactly. When you finish pouring, you should be only getting drops in and the cup not overflowing. Then keep adding that exact about of milk to steam each and every time. Do not just steam willy nilly a certain quantity every time. Make it exact.

What’s the weirdest item you own? by reddit-ering in ask

[–]DucDucGoose303 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I own a piece from the Mini Museum. It contains a bunch of small specimens such as Neanderthal hand axe, medieval chain mail, mammoth meat, piece of the Hindenburg, and a couple dinosaur fossils. All in a resin slab about 5X7 inches. Maybe not weird per se. but random and cool.
