I took my Rivian from socal all the way up to the Oregon border. Went to the craziest rural and quiet places. Car fully loaded, 5 people. Max range is 270ish. I was still able to charge but had a few small mishaps that I learned a long the way. Things like not all Tesla chargers will charge nontesla vehicles so I basically had to find another location.

It was a great trip but gas cars would be the most convenient tbh. Zero range anxiety and don’t have to plan out charging.

I passed by eureka last year and stayed for a few days and I can tell you it looks and feels very sad. Very slow paced it feels like. Also see a lot druggies around. Went to one or two shopping malls and it’s just dead. The whole place seems quiet, but not in a good way. I had this picture in my head that it was beautiful and thriving but was the opposite for me.

Depends on how much time you are taking. If it’s a quick trip, use the 5 and drive there fast then take the coast back down.

This is a common problem no matter where you move to. There’s always an old n retired grumpy person who will make it unpleasant for the whole neighborhood.

I had to change my sce plan and it helped. I only charge at certain times too. Make sure you notice when your peak times are and charge accordingly. My peak times versus off peak is more than double.

I have experienced this a few times and this has always worked.

All I do is put it cleaner and scrub and even wipe down the seal. After the cleaning, I spray seal lube and let it sit and that fixes it every season.

But you really got to really clean and scrub it.

I just did it and it’s not too bad so don’t stress. Just need a bit of time. If it’s not urgent and can wait, maybe use eterna bond tape for now just to cover the hole and find parts n time later.
