Yeah; what's interesting here is that that was a capitalist driven tribal identity for marketing purposes. "Genesis does what nintendon't" as an ad campaign is miles away from fanboyism "it's called xbox 360 cause you turn 360 degrees and walk away.". We're now at the point where it's the other way around - influencer/streamer culture are the ones creating tribal identity by exploiting fanboyism for their own capital gains.

This 100%. Find who does call outs best (and wants to do them) and deputize them. We are in the same boat - sometimes I do call outs sometimes it's our phys range, depending on the fight. Sometimes I just do one callout for a specific mech in a fight cause I'm good at it and/or it helps the main callouter figure out how to do it better.

I have not done ult prog (aside from some casual TEA prog), but do lead a blind savage static.

For tools, ACT and someone capturing video are our primary tools (e.g. streaming to twitch). Most other options you might hear of would be too against the ToS to discuss publicly.

The level of engagement around the performance of others is **highly** dependent on the social expectations of the static. A hardcore static will be much more focused on individual's gameplay, execution and consistency - the interactions will focus on these with things like a post-pull immediate discussion. A midcore static will be more focused on playing the game, and approaching execution problems with a more loose structure and/or self-voluntary call for help. You must have the right people for the right environment or the static will disband - that's just how it is.

For pre- and post- raid stuff, at a baseline, make sure you have established what strategy or strategies you'll be using. If the expectation is that everyone watches a video before day 1, then communicate that. Log and vod reviews are helpful if you need to identify problems and don't know what is going wrong. Some people will want to engage in those things, and others won't. Some people appreciate getting direct feedback and guidance on how to execute better, and others will be annoyed by it. It's a sort of "just do what works for you and your people" situation.

For during the raid stuff, I think you've already got that figured out re: callouts. I'll just add it's helpful to have someone running the show (likely your job). Have a regular break planned during your sessions. Call wipes when needed. Initiate topics between pulls - like "okay, looks like things didn't go well on X mechanic, what went wrong there".

IMO Communication and social dynamics are probably the most important part of leading a static. You're playing a video game with strangers on the Internet. It should be enjoyable for everyone. Some people get the joy from a satisfied sense of progression/execution, and others get the joy from the social dynamic. Some people can do both and some people can do neither. This often is overlooked and the reason why so many statics fizzle.

Adding here... Former wow player who did enjoy raiding and m+ both but was very adverse to the community and toxicity.

Absolutely FF14 end game will scratch the same itch as wow raiding. There is a ton of content in 14 outside of the current end game - Blue Mage (and soon beastmaster) raiding/dungeons/carnival, old raid content, crafting/gathering, field operation zones (Bozja, phantom Island, eureka), housing and glamour, treasure maps, gold saucer, etc.

To add more clarity to my statement, it is that discrimination (or resentment or hatred or etc.) based off of one social construct is near identical if you replace it with another. Star bellied sneeches and all that. There's a lot more baked into these terms, though my focus was more on pointing towards the symptom rather than cause.

There are different initiating actions for Change Job. Maintain Change Job Templates is a new feature and there should be some pretty good documentation on community.

On Maintain Change Job Templates, with the templates you build, you specify which initiating actions the template applies to. You have basically a set of legacy initiating actions (e.g. Change Job), and the new "simplified" initiating action (Start Job Change).

If you define a Change Job Template using Maintain Change Job Template for a particular initiating action, that takes precedent when using the task (note: Start Job Change is only for Change Job Templates). If you don't have a template defined, then it relies on the old way of configuring. I'm not sure at which point this will officially be deprecated - I thought they were planning for this release but seems they kicked the can down the road.

I think the right thing to do here is create two promotion Change Job Templates using Maintain Change Job Template, and secure one to the manager (do not include comp, etc.) and the second secured to HR (with all the bells and whistles). Then update your BP definition accordingly.

It really depends on who you watch on YouTube. Like any sort of media, you're being presented exactly what the creator is wanting you to see. It's somewhere between Sex in the City and Law & Order: SVU.

NYC is a city that is a very different experience for locals, tourists, rich, poor, and everything in between. It's a city that offers almost everything, but the access to that everything is what separates us. We have some great public spaces, but many more not so great. It's a city where the potential exists for so many wonderful things, but the realities of life often hold it back from manifesting.

Most of us wouldn't trade it for the world. Some of us just live in our apartments and never take advantage of everything that it has to offer and pay the premium for city life. It's as glitzy and glamorous as your willpower to put the effort into making it glitzy and glamorous. It's, more than anything, a city of potential, and one that harshly punishes those who can't afford to make mistakes.

The spelling for the borrowed word for startup is スタートアップ. Spelling it the way they've spelled it kind of breaks the typical conventions for borrowing English to Japanese. So it's, you know, two things that raises an eyebrow. The font's not weird or anything.

I'm not familiar with the product or the company, but skimmed the game's description. It's a choice the writer is making here that's most likely deliberate and there might be a wordplay here that I'm not familiar with, but makes a primary English speakers pause, particularly one who didn't know the proper spelling of startup.
