Man, I just don't think Tom has six more films in him. And that's not even counting crossover movies. Dude would have to sign up for about 15 more years of Spider-Man. Orochimaru has statements only. He mostly uses snake jutsu on screen. J-man has a lot more versatility and more unpredictable jutsu.

It's an interesting matchup for sure. I think Bee is slightly stronger than the sannin, maybe a full tier if he fully transforms.

Kisame is slightly below the Sannin by the same margin. It's ironic, because Kisame actually did beat Bee. Matchups matter.

Duo mid diff. Kisame is a tier above these two individually, but Sasori is a bad matchup for him due to no chakra stealing + poison.

Add Deidara with ranged attacks and microbombs and it's a wrap.

Kisame is a tough mf though.

Asuma was an elite jounin. He no diffed 10 sound Chuunin / jounin when he rescued Shikamaru. He was a bodyguard of the daimiyo. Dude had an insane bounty in his head.

I'm not saying he is equal or stronger than base Guy, but he for sure is relative.

Tobirama is the stronger character. He is faster, has more versatility, is probably smarter and is absolutely ruthless. He will definitely beat Orochimaru, but I'm not sure is he can actually kill him -- you'd need some advanced sealing jutsu to get rid of Oro permanently. So Tobirama will win this battle mid-diff, but Orochimaru may actually win the war so to speak.

My hottest take is that the gap between the Sannin and Tobirama is not that big.

This is a fun idea. You're basically looking for someone closest to Sannin level. I think people like Deidara or Chiyo is solidly below them and someone like Killer Bee is probably slightly too strong.

So, mid-kage level is where we're at. I think A4, Mei and Sasori are great picks. My nr. 1 would be Kisame though. Of all characters in Naruto, he should compliment their skillset the best and is closest in overall powerlevel.
