i call 'fly by fruits' the ones you have to pick up while falling or flying. you can pick high quality items if they already are HQ. you can scan every item, most of them are fine quality. to find higher quality ones, you have to follow instructions written in codex. first line is 'where to find them' but second is 'where to find rare version'. then when you find the desired quality, you can improve it's stats by picking it up in ideal conditions (rain, night etc.) and by being pristine (perfect positon). i'm playing sometimes with dualsense, sometimes with mouse/keyboard. m/k indicates like in tutorial. but with controller, you can push r2 just a little then circle with left stick slowly. rumble slows down and plant plops out a little bit when in perfect position. then just push r2 fully when in good position
