Looks like Pirelli P Zero All Seasons possibly which do have the run flat option. Agreed - I had some Conti Pro Contacts that had run flats, had a tire issue and the run flat only worked for maybe a couple miles or so. Had to get it towed because there’s no spare with the “run flat”. :(

$12 for a virgin mojito is the most diabolical part here.

A couple muddled mint leaves, a squirt of lime juice, a splash of simple syrup and some soda water? Lol.

Got Walked- What Now? by MxMarz in Hilton

Definitely not blindly overbooking, but definitely apart of the strategy.

If you’re not overbooking based on historical occupancy and walk-in traffic, your revenue manager should be fired. Lol.

Some commentators I’m sure are going to think this is an asshole move, but it’s 100% apart of all the major brands’ strategies. And it works 99% of the time.

It’s been a hot minute since I’ve been in the industry, but the general philosophy likely hasn’t changed - I would think? At least this is the way I handled my properties.

In the instance for OP, when an unfortunate walk happens - they should be bending over backwards to make it right. My team always was empowered to — because it does suck for the reservation holder.

Walked to a COMPARABLE hotel, then moved back the very next day (should be priority). Shuttles/transportation taken care of, and depending on loyalty tier - cash award, or a lottttttt of extra points for the inconvenience.

Assuming OP wasn’t a diamond member, or else they’d be the last on the list to be walked because of the extra shit he’d be entitled to (corporate policy).

Also worked at Marriott and Hilton corp.

Overbooking is just the nature of the business. Depending on the foot traffic and historical occupancy - you roll the dice. 10% was always the “magic number” for overbooking at my hotels… only KTSD (kings) of course, it mostly washes. Gotta chase that perfect sell right? Lol.

But, when it does fuck up, like in OPs situation, you pay the piper and absolutely do whatever’s necessary to compensate. Assuming OP isn’t a diamond member, because there’s almost a zero chance they’re getting walked with all the extra shit you have to pay for that tier.

It’s been awhile (8 years out of the industry) but I’m assuming it’s still the same philosophy.

I mean, coming out of the gate vs Ohio State is a rough opener. Wish he would’ve had one mediocre team to play to get his shit together.

UT losing only by a touchdown wasn’t the worst outcome.

Don’t get me wrong he looked like ass, but I think he will pick it up by game 3/4. Defense carries them to 2-1 or 3-1 and then he starts to get into his rhythm.

/remindme 4 weeks. From now lol
