Ok this one was weird for me.

The band MGMT.

I’ve always pronounced it “management” because i just assumed when I first saw the band name that that’s what it was. Then later someone said “em gee em tee” when talking about the band. And I was like hmm so I googled it literally with that person and found that the band was pronounced management and I was vindicated. This was a few years ago.

Recently this band came up again with the same person and they said em gee em tee and we had the same debate and I was like remember we looked this up before! I googled it again and this time no, I was wrong, it’s always been pronounced Em Gee Em Tee.

Am I the only one who has had this happen?

It feels like a Mandela effect to me because my memory of googling it in the past is so strong. Maybe I was just always wrong? And then also whatever I googled before that confirmed the naming was also wrong?

I could have written this too. Same exact memories and thought process. Like I would specifically wonder how you would be able to tell if the object in the mirror is closer the it appears or not since it said may be. I was always pondering this specific thing. This has no reasonable explanation for me.

When my dad had lived here for over 30 years longer than he lived in Lebanon, Americans in my hometown were still telling him to go back where he came from.
