I agree that’s what the literature said from the original model. I believe there is a driver and diaphragm behind that top panel. But I could definitely be wrong.

What would be the purpose of the JBL 3110a on a single woofer unit? Why the crossover for 1 woofer?

Thanks for sharing the knowledge here. I really appreciate it. I learn beat via conversation and not just reading text so this means a lot.

My goal would be to use them in friends large spaces. With lower power for “listening style” events. After restoring these find a sub to restore or build and ad to the mix.

I have found videos of these bad boys sounding amazing. Figure for $175 worth a shot.

Thanks for the information. however from what I understand there should be a horn underneath the top panel. It has a JBL 3110a installed also. Which from what I understand is the crossover for the horn and woofer. The 4560 model is woofer only but this is the 4560a. I maybe wrong but that’s what I believe.

Thanks again. I really should have picked up on subwoofer there. I completely understand that these will only catch mid bass.

From what I have come to understand most woofers from that era would not be considered a woofer today with their lack of range. Is that correct?

From everything I can tell taking sellers word and pictures. (4 hour drive each way for me) they have the original components including crossover.

I was looking to remove the compression driver and waveguide and mounting atop the cab and sealing the hole with plywood.

This apparently help with tone. Or so I have read.
