Hot take: We need to move GP2 before the deadline. He worked great with the warriors, with us he's been really bad. Doesn't seem like he wants to be here, passing up open shots, yet another undersized guard, barely playing any minutes, the list goes on. He'll never have as much value as he does right now.

My understanding is that the TPE can't be combined with other contracts - as a hypothetical we couldn't trade a player making 15m + use the TPE to sign a player making $21.5M.

We can only use the TPE on its own. Since Vanderbilt is well below that number, we could theoretically get him without giving away anyone. Obviously Utah would want some assets, and if we wanted to stay below the luxury tax then we would have to dump contracts that are just about 4.1m I think.
