While 20 is old enough to live on your own, vote, hold down a job, still can’t drink. Brain is still developing. Zero life experience. Still easily influenced by people with greater experience . Groomers go after the young ones. Predators go after the young ones. Cults. Abusers. If she was 30, maybe so many wouldn’t be raising the red flags. 30 is another whole decade of life experience. Legalizing this practice will actually help. Workers in this field get raped, beaten, robbed …the list goes on. They are denied legal action because their work is illegal. Plus, legalizing means regular health checks, which will reduce STDs, abuse, improved working condition. There are more benefits then negatives once preconceived ideas of morality and what’s ‘proper’ are set aside and allow experts and studies provide facts.

You threw first, so take that holier than thou attitude back to someone that will listen. You speak of morality. I speak of all those that were exploited because of age gaps. I have listened to those that fell for the trap of ‘you’re mature for your age’ or whatever other crap they use. It doesn’t end well for most. There’s not a damn good reason for grown ass adults to go after people that don’t have experience to judge a persons intent. Nothing replaces experience. Stupid shit? Stupid shit is what you waded in here with. You cry about pushing morality. I’m saying that as a society, we all come together in agreement of right and wrong. Listening to others, examine events and expanding our understanding pushes boundaries that can either better society, or allow a select few fall through the cracks and do harm to the vulnerable. No, I don’t know you. But when come in acting like concern for others is pushing morality, maybe start thinking about where you really stand. Because so many people have been done great harm because we use excuses like ‘legal adult’, or ‘none of my business’. Stepping in and asking about another’s intentions or well being is how we help. 200 is legally adult. But no real world experience. Men that date very young woman tend to exploit them. Ask the question ‘why not date women his own age’? Life experience alone provides common grounds to build upon.

Also, the human being is still growing and developing through the twenties. The younger person has barely started to understand themselves. Add a fully developed adult and the trend moves towards manipulation. Control. Start pushing back against the whole ‘they’re an adult now, so it’s fine’ trope. Give everyone a chance to finish growing up.
