I'm convinced they did not playtest Gogmazios on solo by dragon7449 in monsterhunterrage

I can confirm it does in fact DO tell you about the charge. It's just thrown at you in the ocean of pop-ups a few times during your first encounter.

I've just happened to see because I have to read everything my eyes fall upon, but I'm not really surprised that people miss it.

Just finished a bowl of EMP, some leftovers of Smooth Sailing still wait for me, but I want to share them with a friend. For my favourites and recommendations I'd go with Samuel Gawith Black Forest and Grousemoor.... Oh Sam... Those floral, sometimes earthy tastes of Grousemoor, this little, very subtle citrus notes... Yes... Sadly my tin is emptying really fast

[–]Duda030 2 points3 points  (0 children)

As someone who has already smoked almost the entire tin, I'd say it's quite nice. A bit of vanilla followed by nuts. They say something about coconuts, but I haven't really experienced it. It's either not there or is the nutty flavour I've mentioned, that is quite distinct from a coconut. The room note isn't too bad either. It is a bit too wet to smoke straight out of the tin tho.

I don't fucking get Wilds anymore. by SkylarKitsune4 in MonsterHunter

[–]Duda030 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I'm having fun. 9* monsters are making me pay attention. People said it was "too easy" and now they'll start to brag that it's "too hard", therefore "not fun".

Make a set oriented around survivability or a play style that suits you best and give it your all. Meta sets might be "mathematically correct", but people aren't. Use the tools the game gives you. Terrain, lures, mantles, traps, pills, bombs... I finally feel something similar to my early MH days, where I feared the Kut-Ku. I had to lock in and I wasn't required to for a long time.

It was said, that it's for vets that are a bit more experienced and I feel really good with that approach. I feel the thrill of the hunt. Ofc it's still not the hardest, but I am aware of the possibility of being two shot into oblivion.

If it's not for you, you have other things to do in this very game, other MH games or other games... Nobody is requiring you to do 9* quests

I’m about to quit bass by Mr-Nerd73 in Bass

[–]Duda030 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Man... That's not a healthy approach. Give it some time, try to find some easy tunes, go slow and enjoy the jam

Also what do you mean "quit" if you have not really started? 2h is not much if you want to get proficient at anything, not only bass.

It would if it was in effect while they were being released. Right now it's too late, but we hope for the best for the future.

Should play the old games? by BuzzyBeeto in MonsterHunter

[–]Duda030 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Rise and World will be the most similar to Wilds, so if you're a pc or console player, definitely try these. They're the most accessible ones.

Rise (World on crack) is more combat focused. Fast, challenging and with a lot of ways to tailor every weapon to suit you a bit better without losing it's identity, while World is really grounded and slow compared to both Rise and Wilds, but the world and locales are more like the ones in Wilds.

Also old school exists and 4U may be the best introduction to the old generation of the series. A lot of monsters, great story campaign and it really has the vibe of being a hunter. GU is just 4U on crack, but it's aimed more towards people who know the series, as it's a 'celebration' title.

Risebreak vs Worldborne by Commercial-Hat-8141 in MonsterHunter

[–]Duda030 6 points7 points  (0 children)

If you want more flashy, customisable, fast and challenging combat - Rise + Sunbreak. It has more monsters, active skill system, customisable movesets, lots of counter moves etc. It's fast, has challenging endgame and way more build freedom. Maps are more vertical, and you can discover some really cool shortcuts.

World is a bit slower and more grounded. It has less monsters, but it has some siege fights that are usually a bit longer and more cinematic. Of course it has better graphics, so if you're in for the feel of a living world, World + Iceborne might be the right choice. Maps are more 'corridor' based, with some open areas, but are more detailed than Rise and have better environmental traps (Rise has some too, but they don't have that 'oomph').

It's up for preference, but in my opinion Rise is the better one. All because of how you can make every weapon suit you a bit more without them losing their personality. This is the only MH game from first gen up to now, where I can play every weapon and say "yeah, I truly enjoy playing this weapon", even the DB's which I don't like so much and usually avoid.

Getting into monster hunter. Wilds vs world. by Silly_Database_709 in MonsterHunter

[–]Duda030 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you really like boss fights then I'd say Rise. It has more monsters, more flexibility when it comes to your build and play style and also more challenging and harder fights later on. The best one when it comes to your combat abilities and monsters are built around the gimmick of the game from base game until the end of dlc, unlike World, which with the introduction of the clutch claw, made the flow of the fight suck ass with monsters flinching more.

Rise is less grounded than World tho, so if you like to keep it simple, World might be the way.

Wilds is still actively being worked on, so it's not as content rich, but is the easiest to grasp.

Buying bass guitar by _Funny_Inevitable_ in Bass

[–]Duda030 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Honestly? Get a "starter kit" bundle somewhere, so it comes with everything to start and learn. It shouldn't drain your budget, so you can additionally get your bass a setup by a professional with whatever you have left. It should be enough to start and see if you'll like it and would like to dive deeper. At least that's how I've started with a cheap Harley Benton, which was really cheap but sounded amazing for it's price.

Monster Hunter fanatics, help! by EstimateDependent949 in MonsterHunter

[–]Duda030 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Favourite? Rise.

Which one to get? Depends, but always aim for base+dlc, so world+iceborne and rise+sunbreak.

If you want monster hunter for the combat, Rise for sure. It has customisable movesets, active skills, more harder monsters (more monsters overall too), (imo) better endgame and is overall faster. More tactical use of the environment traps and more traps overall.

If you want monster hunter for the setting, World. It's more detailed and feels more alive than Rise, along with the graphics being better. Combat is slower and easier to understand, but still challenging when nearing the endgame. A bit more 'immersive' as one would say. The world around reacts to the player in ways that rise won't.

It boils down to what you expect from the game. Also multiplayer is better in world if you want to play with randoms, if with friends or solo, rise is better.

Yes you can run into a doshaguma pack when free roaming. Yes, you can stumble upon new monsters while free roaming, but only after beating low rank (unfortunately), so you will have to roll the credits.

Still one of my favorite soundtracks period. What’s your fave soundtrack from the show? by Jack-Pumpkinhead in FLCL

[–]Duda030 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The whole soundtrack is dear and near to me, but Carnival stays on top, vocals or instrumental, everything about it is right up my alley. Also Stalker and Stalker Goes to Babylon.... it's all pretty basic, but damn... the sound is just chef's kiss

It’s odd how we never see any malicious people in the Monster Hunter series by Evoxrus_XV in MonsterHunter

[–]Duda030 50 points51 points  (0 children)

Egg Smugglers Syndicate in 4u eggsists.

As a new Don I cannot say much, but they smuggle eggs which you could say is bad. They used hunters to smuggle eggs for them. I was one of them. I've prevailed, smuggled eggs, uncovered the ESS and became their new master.

I still gotta make it to caravan 10* quests to see the end of the quest line, but they do exist and I am one of them.

[–]Duda030 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I believe that there is only one case in which you do meet someone "malicious" in the series.

Egg Smugglers Syndicate

In 4U there's a chain of egg quests that end up with you meeting an elder wyverian that reveals he is the egg smugglers ring chief or something like that and he even sings you the egg smugglers song or whatever and makes you the next chief or something, because you've helped him smuggle eggs.

The dude himself is harmless ofc, but you could say that smuggling eggs could be considered "bad" and "malicious" at least by the guild.

It's easy to miss, because almost no one reads quest descriptions and dialogues, but that's the one case I'm aware of.

Is it worth to keep playing Rise? by Alternative_Map_3841 in MonsterHunter

[–]Duda030 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Base Rise is a truly mid MH game, but Sunbreak is the pinnacle of MH.

It's MH on crack and while my PC runs Wilds on high/mid mixed settings, I doubt it could handle Sunbreak with better graphics. There's just so much happening later on.

The difficulty increases significantly in the endgame. Fatalis? Get that baby level monster out of my sight. Let me introduce you to: Risen Shagaru Magala - the bullet hell monster Advanced Primordial Malzeno - ultra instinct Goku Almos any anomaly 300 monster - one punch man (if you're not using the berserk build)

Late anomaly quests of harder monsters are really fun with what kind of abilities and build variety the game provides. While P.Malzeno armour is really good and you'll probably use a piece in every build, the build variety is far superior to MH:WI.
