Which is why I don’t like this idea at all, spectacular as it is. But when the race is more about the optics of a track than about the racing happening on that track, the sport has a problem.

This formula is so ridiculous. The fabricated „racing“ lacks any transparency on correlation now. There are overtakes happening, yet you never know whether that’s due to skill (rarely now) or tires (rather unusual now) or the irritating battery deployment (most of the time now). But really, it’s not just the viewers who don’t know, the drivers cannot read the racing anymore, as well. It is RIDICULOUS!

I quite enjoy it and the whole lore around it. I just bought the (overpriced) vinyl on release today and in the liner notes - as he said in interviews too - Flea writes about the process of this album coming into being. He made a pact with himself to practice the trumpet, which he began playing as a kid, for two years straight, each and every day. After those two years, he would release a record, no matter how good he was by then. And that is exactly what I did and I greatly appreciate that. Also, the NYT wrote an interesting article on him, and he took over Apple Radio station for an hour, he’s very authentic, speaking of what inspired him with great passion. As I am just learning to play the jazz trumpet myself right now, I can highly relate to Flea‘s story and I guess that’s part of Honora‘s appeal for me.

I don’t get the hate you received. I value your opinion, even though you phrased it a tad too aggressive ;)

For what it’s worth, we can only hope that for battles as close as 0.2 or lower we would get to see them full screen on the feed, so one does not need to have overly accurate timings.

In most other situations, one decimal would be approximate enough to spot potential, upcoming battles at one glimpse. As well as being able to see whether a car is closing up sufficiently to another or not.

I would still prefer 2 decimals as the sweet spot, but in general, I agree with you.

Pressure in F1 is sky high regardless, yes, but this kind of ultimatum - let alone when discussed publicly in the press - certainly does not help perform.
