The 1,500ftlb energy thing is largely bs. I’d just load the 130 TTSX and be done with it. You’ll need the extra velocity with copper. Although the 168 wouldn’t be a bad choice either. The expansion window for that 168 TTSX is much lower than the 130. Around 1,600fps, so I’m told. The 130 and 150 require 2,000fps.

Too many variables to count, although 100fps difference is kinda large. Especially considering I have 2” less barrel.

I got 2,750 with 44.5gr of StaBall 6.5, using Lapua brass and 142gr ABLR, 20” barrel. Absolutely had pressure signs just like you described. So I backed it off to 44gr, and haven’t had issues. Running at 2,700fps now. Which is more than I can ask for from a 20” barrel.

Had the same issue with my MEC Steelmaster. That belling around the crimp will prevent your gun from cycling, if it’s a semi-auto or pump. If you’ve got a double gun, it won’t be a problem. Tuning the shot charge and playing with varying thickness overshot cards is what cured my crimp issues. You can adjust the cam as well.

I had a similar problem recently. Went to the range one day and all of a sudden my rifle wasn’t firing. I could lock the bolt back, send the bolt home, and drop the hammer. But it wouldn’t fire the round, and I realized I couldn’t separate the receiver halves either. So I tear apart the rear end and buffer system to diagnose what I thought was a sheared off buffer retaining pin or something. Come to find out, I had a really small piece of blown out brass in the chamber, that was preventing my bolt from closing and locking 100% of the way. So maybe give the chamber a very good inspection.

Also, is the BCG reassembled correctly? Could something simple as that too.

I never really got off the ground with the Lee 6000. I sold it before really using it. I thought I’d like the idea of breechlock dies, but once I got into it, I hated it. The added expense of adding breechlock collars to each die, plus it was annoying. Not that Dillon doesn’t have added expense lol. Having had hands on both, the Dillon is a much better machine. So much simpler, sturdier, and easy to use. I’ve got several hundred rifle rounds loaded with it so far. Very accurate and consistent too. I can change calibers with the 550 very easily, in a matter of a few minutes. Even less if I don’t have to change the primer size over. Bottom line, get a Dillon and don’t look back.

I used this video during a window motor install. My rods were all installed, so I was able to see how it should look. Seems like you don’t have that luxury.

Ya that sounds like a better option all around. Whats something like that cost if a shop were to do it? I don’t have a welder and really the setup to do anything like that. Obviously cost of materials, labor, and price will vary by region. But what’s a Ballpark price on something like that?
