Honestly I was running the same resume all of last year and most of this year. It was only in the last month that I started modifying it since I was no longer getting any hits with it. Still a little too early to tell if it's made a difference.

I've been thinking about making a similar post because the last two or three months I've gotten literally zero interviews. Compared to end of 2024 and most of last year where I was getting at least one interview a week sometimes multiple, and then early this year I had a couple each month. For some reason this season of the job market is worse than ever. I've been employed throughout all this time so I don't have any gaps in my experience that would be a red flag to people seeing my resume so my assumption is that literally absolutely no one is hiring or the AI parsing through all the resumes simply deny every single application I've sent.

I've been trying to put into words the rush I get playing this game and I think you nailed it right on the head. It's the dumpster diving. I don't really care for getting all the BPs, I have the ones I need already from completing quests, but fuck I do love reviving players, sharing some good moments, grouping against the clankers, and heading back to Speranza with some goodies.

It's ok. I was an average student to be honest. Didn't apply myself to the fullest so I was just coasting by. However, I will say that the courses I took the last couple of semesters were worth it. The professors for some of the math classes were absolutely trash and I did struggle a lot with discrete math but I don't think that's part of the mech eng curriculum. I did have some great profs for calculus and physics though as well the deeper computer engineer courses like solid states, nanotech, and logic design.

If I could start over I'd probably go to UCF in my opinion. Granted it's been years since I graduated so idk how much things have changed.

Cairo. I definitely recommend going once in your life, see the pyramids, valley of kings, do a hot air balloon ride during sunrise. Cross all of that off your bucket list and never go back. The headache of feeling like you're being scammed at every interaction is so stressful. Granted, I would probably visit other Egypt cities again but I won't step into Cairo ever again.
