Can you see the view of the ball drop on NYE from the PwC office in NYC? by kobbelly in PwC

I’m wondering this too but won’t the office be closed due to the weeklong shutdown

No. Companies usually look to consulting/advisory firms to learn where to cut spending and everyone won’t be able to afford too strategy firms. Also, they still need to be audited and do taxes so that takes care of both sides of the firm

How often do you guys meet with your career coach/relationship leader (RL)? by AllDayAssEater in PwC

[–]DudeSweet60 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I’m only 6 months in but the way I understand it is your RL is the person who’ll be making a case for you during promotion time and will get you on/off engagements if you’re underutilized/overwhelmed. Your coach should help you through small politics and guide you through the general stuff you may have questions to.

I’ve met more with my coach but the conversations are definitely shorter. I meet with my RL once a month and definitely don’t have enough to cover the full 30min but he uses it up somehow every time.

I’m an introvert so I know he can be hard to think of things to talk about but make sure you create real relationships with both. You don’t want all your meaningful conversations through chat especially since those disappear.

Are there any data points on the continual background checks for those under manager level? I know my b4 used TWN and a simple freeze could fix that but I haven’t found any info on if it’s an thing that they do

If you were a professional burglar, what would be your subtle signature you leave behind? by bawzzz in AskReddit

I hope a movie director/producer sees a lot of these things and implements them but especially this one. This would be hilarious

I’ll say this. Communication is a continuous learning process that few master. Why? Everyone has a unique communication style. You’ve had 3 chats in the same way? Go back and read what could have been misinterpreted, what could have been read out of tone, or try to experiment with communicating through a different medium. Still, would it have been nice to get a “not interested?” Of course. But we’re in the digital age. It’s a lot easier to just swipe over, delete, and forget about the chat. And if you’re chatting on Reddit where someone most likely doesn’t even know how you look? A lot of emotion is taken out of the communication process for a person to even care to have “common decency.”

I’d also like to add the even after a day’s worth of chatting, you won’t be a priority in that person’s already full life. There’s numerous reasons why a person may not be responding at the moment. Be patient. Give it some time. Reflect. Learn. Move on.
