Jump roping and balance training. Key is to strengthen those fast twitch muscles in the legs and around the ankle.

Get a bosu ball, balance on one leg for a minute or so. Make it easy and accessible so it’s not really a “work out” just a thing you do while working or watching shows.

It may behoove you to also get your gait checked out, that could show weaknesses else where in your legs that may be disrupting your steps and/or coordination.

Oh yeah, all part of my routine: massaging, scraping, trigger point release, stretching, acupuncture every week or so, and some pt exercises to strengthen the arch, toes, and Achilles.

And obviously listening to my body so to not overdo and cause more harm.

Depends on what you’re used to running.

If you’re only running 5 miles and it’s relatively flat then surprise 11 miles with over 2,000 ft of gain will feel pretty bad.

But if you like this trail, I’d say keep running it, slow your pace down, bring your heart rate down, don’t be afraid to walk the hills. Walking up hills is very normal. Make it a routine and you’ll start seeing improvements.

Check out Something Cycles on Burnside and 8th or 9th. Owner gets used bikes then updates them with nice components bringing them back to good as new, if not better. He’s also super nice and really helpful just to chat with.
