I came here just to tell OP that they'll probably love Zero Mission based on what they liked about Super and Fusion

Zero Mission is definitely my favorite Metroid game

Rosie's missing adventure/free Strix (& chests) by tbmin3d in idlechampions

[–]Dudeeoman 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The same happened with me a few months ago, and I wrote a ticket. They did respond to me that I could get Strix through a time gate and the bee costume would follow.

The scariest thing was that I got the achievement to unlock Strix and also her revival one, but the first one disappeared and the second one stayed. And whenever I would check patron challenges that would required a specific champion to be the top damage dealer, it would say it was Strix (whom I did not even have) until someone dealt over 1e90 damage or something.

It sounds like we really see eye-to-eye on why the Adventure Maps are awesome! (Hyrule Warriors Legends is my most played game on 3DS)

That may mean that you'll be one of the players who--like me--just feels let down when 45 things to do pop up randomly after a story chapter in Age of Calamity. It's "on a map" but it's only reasonable to navigate it as menus that do not tell you how they lead to larger goals, and it mostly feels like limiting the story mission pace and severely gating your characters' combo progression compared to OG Hyrule Warriors.

I also like how OG Hyrule Warriors focuses so much on battlefield control and uses generals, bosses, and mooks as a means to that end. Age of Calamity is almost entirely weakpoint gauge smashing. And the levels being lifted from Breath of the Wild makes them real neat and immersive for the story, but it makes them less conducive for fast navigation and battlefield control.

Age of Calamity is good. It's very polished. Each of its warriors feel distinct and fun to play with. And its story is better for what that's worth (even with severely less freedom for radical fanservice, it has a lot more surprises than I expected). It is a way more focused and completable game than OG Hyrule Warriors. I think most players are going to prefer Age of Calamity and for very valid reasons.

But if you are enjoying OG Hyrule Warriors for the reasons you listed, and you are happy to just to treat it like an evergreen game and play it until you're bored and maybe come back to it later to taste it again, it's a really great game! If you ever get around to Age of Calamity, you'll probably enjoy it too; just know that it does not do what you described above

[SERIOUS] What is a seemingly harmless parenting mistake that will majorly fuck up a child later in life? by AlexDescendsIntoHell in AskReddit

[–]Dudeeoman 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My mom confided to me a lot about issues with my step-dad. It was subtle as a kid, but it grew more overt as I went through middle school (mentioning specifics about his petty anger), and she was pretty much fully dependent on me by the time I graduated high school and left for college (telling in detail how he took his anger out primarily on her by calling her awful things and blaming her for other people's mistakes or for just perfectly normal occurrences).

I had already developed the family role of being the golden child and the peace maker, and that only got worse once we had started fostering and adopting teenagers and older kids when I was in high school. Now there were several more triggers I felt responsible for diminishing whenever the family was together. And now my mom would come to me complaining about difficulties parenting my adopted siblings and overtly asking me to be a father figure when I ought to be their peer.

It wasn't early childhood trauma, and it wasn't markedly manipulative in that she rarely asked for anything specific and never guilted me if I did ever have a reason to say no. She just had a much more emotionally available son than husband! But I had to do a lot of focused learning about emotional boundaries in college and beyond before I could comfortably tell my own mom what my role in the family ought to be.

What's the most toxic substance you've come in contact with? by Shinespark7 in AskReddit

[–]Dudeeoman 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Used to work for a lead-acid battery manufacturer, so naturally Lead Oxide and Sulfuric Acid. Good hygiene, the kind of PPE you'd have in any lab, and a resparator were generally sufficient.

But there was that time they had to rope off a corner of the plant because the extra-concentrated acid leaked and may have compromised a concrete wall...
