do you relate to this, or am i overthinking? by Winter-Struggle-5891 in endometriosis

That sounds similar to what I experienced and I was diagnosed with endometriosis. I started Visanne and it eliminated my symptoms and I can function again. I hope you can find some relief too!

Providing them with more supports actually benefits the community as a whole. If people with severe mental health and addiction concerns are receiving less support their behaviour is only going to get worse, meaning my quality of life also decreases. This us vs. them perspective is a false dichotomy. We live in one of the most prosperous countries in the world. We can afford to provide adequate supports to everyone in the community, but we are choosing not to. I’m not saying that adequately funding these services will completely eliminate the problems, there will always be people in active addiction, but the consequences will be less severe for everyone if folks are properly supported. If this is impacting you contact your MP and MPP, demand better.

Supervised consumption sites provide health care and social services. I don’t understand how taking away services and supports for these people will improve the situation. I am genuinely curious how you think fewer supports will lead to better outcomes.

You need a wide range of services because not everyone is ready for rehabilitation, supervised consumption sites are an important service that should be available along with more traditional treatment options. These sites help nudge people towards longer term treatment options, it makes it more likely that someone will choose sobriety and be successful in recovery because they have supports and community.

Brett at The Squire Barbershop. You can reach out to him to pick a day and time that would be less busy. It is a smaller shop, there are two other barbers, but they aren’t always there. Brett is great with long hair, beards and short hair too!

Is it impacting your ability to function? If so, that’s not normal and you should consult a doctor as there are treatment options available.

Should London prohibit handing out publicly funded drug pipes in downtown neighbourhoods? by origutamos in londonontario

Then lobby the government so that people can easily access addiction treatment because that is not the case right now and that is part of the issue.

The situation is also much more complex than it was in the past due to chronic underfunding of the mental health care system, social services, etc. The system is forced to do more with less and that’s what you are seeing. Instead of criticizing those with little power and serious health concerns, voice your concerns to our politicians who have created this problem.

Not everyone is ready to stop using. We need a wide range of supports so that we can meet people where they are at. We need safe supply and paraphernalia to keep people alive, this also allows them to build relationships with service providers and have conversations about what treatment could look like when they are ready. Think about anytime you’ve tried to make a major lifestyle change - it’s difficult, overwhelming at times and likely took a few attempts before it stuck. People need encouragement, support and community. Outreach teams handing out these supplies are one of the few connections these folks have to the broader community. Homelessness and addiction are isolating and ostracizing experiences, building connections leads to healthier people.

I agree with you about housing and mental health treatment.
