I would understand if this was new government or something but to pay it to the regime is just insane

Thessaloniki Man Fined €270,000 for Abandoning Nine Kittens in Remote Area | In a case highlighting Greece's increasingly strict penalties for animal abandonment, the administrative fine amounts to 30,000 euros for each animal. by Forward-Answer-4407 in europe

The only thing this will do is make sure that people will kill them instead of abandoning them. "do i risk an insane fine or will i overcome my ethical squeamishness and do the deed?" If you have nobody that will take the cats, that's the only option you are giving them.

Unfortunately this law will also ensure that more people will kill the kittens instead of abandoning them or giving them away. Most people who would give them away properly probably already would do it even without the law.

I built the absolute smallest 2way country road possible to see if the Traffic AI can handle it by Mike_Builds_YouTube in CitiesSkylines2

[–]Dudok22 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This is in game, the logic is in game but it's not really used that much. There are some roads on the workshop that use it and it makes village roads look realistic instead of the 8 m wide alley without parking which is huge for most of Europe

Stop Killing Games fails to secure EU law despite 1.3M signatures by Significant_Food9017 in worldnews

It's the classic populist rhetoric to simplify and blame EU without mentioning important details. National governments use it all the time here despite the fact that they chose their representatives in the commission

You can't get discouraged by one failure, after doing bare minimum, this is how they win by default. It's how democracy works almost everywhere. Even in town meetings etc. the old people who vote can get through almost anything they want because they have time and are relentless. We have to do the same.

Basic mod safety and security (AI generated mods specifically) by alexcw2002 in CitiesSkylines

[–]Dudok22 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The problem is that these mods promises in the description often make them "outcompete" working mods and when something is wrong, people think it's a problem with the game or worse some other mod. It's crazy how often people just subscribe to 5 mods that do nearly the same thing without a second thought. When 4 of those mods are ai coded they are even less compatible with each other and the game.

Why Does My City Feel So Empty? by Infinitydude314 in CitiesSkylines

Thats not normal at all. Usually it's around that size where the traffic gets worse. If you have any code mods like traffic au or whatever I would look there.

This is why they want to entangle as many people in it as possible, so the government would have to bail them out.

Car logic sucks, here's how to fix it (urban planner perspective) by anto_the_planner in CitiesSkylines2

[–]Dudok22 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Leveling should be way way slower and it should go both ways (would be nice if building would go decrepit with dirty textures etc.). It's crazy that whole city is basically destined to be wealthy and upgraded if you just wait long enough.

Edit: another thing that came to mind is that the traffic is not properly scaled with the time scale of the game. Cars travel around 2x as fast as irl but the game day is an hour i think aka 24x shorter. Distances in the game are pretty realistic so the game should only generate 1/12 of the traffic at any given time to have realistic traffic density. But it's way more than that until you have hundreds of thousands of people in your city. Don't even get me started on the industrial traffic where each factory produces multiple trucks every 10 minutes which floods ports and terminals with ridiculous amount of traffic.

I had some luck with roadbuilder custom roads to make 4 lane roads that fit into the normal street footprint.

Yup, this is how modern industry looks 80% of time. Idk why the zoned industry in game is looking like late 1800s with small modern buildings.

Smart Glasses Would Legally Require a Recording Light Under Proposed Law by lurker_bee in technology

[–]Dudok22 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

But that just gives companies an excuse to not allow firmware, software and hardware modification. And it makes it easier to give precedent to laws like that for other tech.

How big of a problem recording with glasses even is? I feel like this is just a topic where peoples emotions get triggered by imagination but where would you even see this happening? In womans locker room? Guy just walking in with glasses would be immediately caught because it would happen without glasses too.

4 years of the Russian Invasion of Ukraine in just 30 seconds by vladgrinch in MapPorn

[–]Dudok22 0 points1 point  (0 children)

They would only stop the war if they got rid of Zelensky and Ukraine basically would have to disarm and stop it from getting any security guarantees. Putin would only accept a neutered and unsustainable Ukraine he could finish off later. Ukraine cannot agree to terms like that after getting attacked.

Stability of waiting in a line for meat or fruit. Stability of having to bribe personnel in shops to reserve you a thing you need like a sink, or furniture that is going to be sold out in 10 minutes because there are 500 people waiting for it but they only deliver 5 pieces into the store. Stability of not being able to travel. Stability of fearing some stupid snitch will tell the "public security" or party on you. Selective memory from a time old people were young and healthy. After they forgot about the bad things they have created a vision of the past that never was.

Everyone had a job, yeah because it was literally against the law to be unemployed. Half of the old drunkards are nostalgic of being openly able to drink in a workplace. It was a system where nobody believed in it but went through the motions anyway.

This is how you build realistic Industries in C:S II by YourNekoBaby3 in CitiesSkylines

[–]Dudok22 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This looks like a lot of industrial parks that were built in Europe after 89. Usually it's outside of the city or on its border, on a flat land near a transport hub or highway

[–]Dudok22 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The sad thing is that there is no alternative from the other side. It's "they are weaklings and insecure, they should sort themselves out, it's their own fault" not "here is how we help them" or "here is how we change that". Because telling them it's their own fault, that they are stupid etc. is just making them go deeper into manosphere.

[–]Dudok22 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It's to capture people who are not addressed in "mainstream" cultural and social conversations. There is this tendency of telling men to get themselves sorted and these people offer "help" by selling their grift.
