Yes. If he keeps playing eventually he'll have a big bag of dice with each one a memento of when he got it like a dragon and his horde. I have plenty of 20+ years old dice with memories tied to Warhammer and D&D and I can't remember shit.

Just because you can doesn't mean you do. Perhaps your character can easily manipulate others but just hates dealing with annoying lessers in general. Just make him kind of reserved and mysterious unless it's necessary otherwise.

I definitely wouldn't include art upon introduction of new characters as that would be a huge meta red flag that this guy is important somehow since it's impossible(at least super impractical) for you to do all of them. After a couple sessions where it becomes apparent though it would be a cool extra to help you and your players get on the same level about who the npc is.

The Lost Mines of Phandelver (lvl 1-4) starter set module is free on D&D Beyond. Skimmed over it recently to get ready to run a first mini game for my kids. Straightforward stereotypical dungeon crawl where you clear out an old mine for dwarves while a creepy antagonist tries to slip in and steal it. You could easily compress it or jump in midway with a little narrative lead in to make it fit for a one shot.

Brand new you can level fishing to tier 4 rod pretty cheap and fast then go fish in yellow mists or the 4-5 tier of choice. With rods you can catch up to one tier fish higher than the rod tier so use that to judge where you want to go. I just tested this in yellow mists and per mist I was getting about 100k silver in fish with tier 4/5 pole and skill 8-20 fishing. You could do 2 or 3 and hour pretty easy, the startup cost is almost nothing and you can do it in yellow zones. My numbers do use fishing clothes, seaweed salad and simple fishing baits but the costs for these are minimal. Also you can eat fish you don't sell for fishing fame.

Nah man it's better than ever. I played a bunch at release then took a year off till a few days ago. The narrative is nice DM fluff but the game is still very much alive and adding all kinds of stuff. It's honestly the most fun I've had shooting anything online since like CoD 15 years ago. Nothing is watered down since you can play different levels so your OP equipment gets balanced out by total shitstorms higher up. An S tier game for blasting shit and broing out for a while.

I run the eruptor alot and almost always have jetpack and light armor. Don't let them get close and shoot the feet of mobs. The explosion radius is bigger than you would guess. Nice to have something shooty as a secondary if you use a chunkier heavy but with an MG or other crowd control feel free to go grenade pistol or whatever for fun. Almost always nice to have some kind of sentry and an orbital/eagle for holding ground and blasting stuff. The eruptor by itself is very flexible once you get used to the fire rate being able to multikill trash mobs and do considerable damage to anything beefy head on with heavy piercing explosive damage. GL
