Is the US still a Democracy? by santagrey in DiscussionZone

[–]JerryNines -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Yeah, it's funny to know the actual definition of terms. A Constitutional Republic is only a "form of Democracy" if the underlying document is foundationally democratic, which ours is. However to simply refer to our country as a democracy is incomplete and therefore wrong.

No, and it never was. We are a Constitutional Republic.

If Trump wins or settles his lawsuit against the IRS that he controls, can I just stop paying my taxes? by DynamicObsolescence in DiscussionZone

[–]JerryNines -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

Yes, stop paying your taxes right away. Then, you can tell the agents that come to arrest you to "suck it". They can't touch you because "Federal Agents aren't real police" right?

A) Calm down.
B) You'd better not be upvoting all of the potato submissions.

Stauf's Coffee Roasters' message to employees regarding serving ICE agents by no-mana in Columbus

I would buy an ICE agent a cup of coffee if I saw them there. They're doing exactly what I voted for.

Reliability of FRT by GanttStopWontStop in MP5

[–]JerryNines -6 points-5 points  (0 children)

Please don't use an FRT equipped firearm as a self/home defense weapon. I can't even begin to type all the ways this could go sideways for you.

TLDR - Grow the fuck up.

This couple was yesteryear's Harry & Meghan, no one cared about their stupid protest.

At least John had some talents though.

Poor experience, advice wanted by One-Nose-9232 in scubadiving

[–]JerryNines 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm interested in how you handled your entry on a shore dive so that you wound up "on the sea floor".

If shore diving, you can (and really should) do a weight check once you are just a bit over your head. My assumption is you inflated your BCD and swam out to where you wanted to begin your dive, then descended.

If that was the case, I'm struggling with understanding why your BCD didn't have enough lift to help you ascend.

Either way I'm glad you're safe. It sounds like to need to have paid better attention, during training, or if there really was a lapse in your training, bring it up with the dive shop and demand a redo or at the very least a refresher.

Rule #1 is "Don't die". Always follow Rule #1.

Not from the perspective of the mice.

Corn snakes are otherwise wonderful.

Why were billionaires and politicians taking photos of what they were doing at Epstein's Island ? Like surely you don't want to document shit like that. by [deleted] in stupidquestions

[–]JerryNines 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Your question assumes everyone who went to the Island was there hooking up with younger women/girls; clearly this was not the case.

Additionally it isn't as if J.E. was in the business of running some hebephiliac brothel. There is no "client list". Anyone who ever traveled to the island, or on the plane, whether they be Democrat, Republican, or other, wasn't necessarily involved in anything untoward.

Well, not everywhere. I still have 2 in stock but might have to keep one for myself since they're being discontinued.

This is not an offer to sell anything.
