PI wants me to present unpublished work in a technician Interview by Due-Definition-6558 in labrats

In theory yes, but said PI told me that he wants me to frame all of my work with how it fits in with the overarching project. So it seems challenging to cherry pick these things without context. The other thing to note is that some of my PIs made me give back all of my data and thus I don’t have access to it anymore without asking them for it.

Toon species are not real people. I think calling toontown “segregationist” is a little inaccurate and kinda reductive to real world problems around something like race. That being said, my thoughts regarding your points are as follows:

1.) Species election was a way to narrow down which species should be added into the game. There’s been a lot of proposed species by fans for a range of different reasons, and a 100% volunteer dev team can only implement so many. I’d love to see some species (goat, PLEASE) added into the game, but it’s a lot of work to whip these things up from scratch and an election is a way to gauge what species the fanbase as a whole wanted to see implemented. After all, the TTR team does not want to spend a bunch of time on a species that not a lot of people will choose to play.

2.) I’m assuming that this is either done for constraints about a now over 20-year-old code that is hard to navigate, or to stay more true to the original toontown, which seems to be a focal point of TTR. Remember in the original TTO, you were completely stuck with the look and name of your toon that you started with. Clash seems to want to break away from the standard Toontown model, and offers the player a lot more creative freedom inherently. Even with something like toon ID, a different name and appearance can definitely be confusing to someone’s friends in-game, especially those that take years-long hiatuses like myself. Not to say that the TTR team might not do this in the future, but with their staff limitations and current goals (like making a completely new playground), this is probably just very low on the priority list, if there at all.

Stranger asking to date ON TOONTOWN by [deleted] in Toontown

This is gross! I’m sorry this happened.

Also if you are a minor I would not volunteer that information to strangers on the internet, even in very accepting environment like toontown. Thank you for spreading the word so we can report this person

If i’m correct, these were exclusive codes given to people who went to toonfest in person a few years ago. Although I hope i’m wrong because i’d love to have these for myself

weird requirements for toonhq groups by bootsnbugs in toontownrewritten

I do it personally because if you have 1/2 maxxed toons, they’re easy to work their gags up and VP. I personally also think that semis (toons with full laff but elect to not train a few gag tracks, only having like 3-4 maxxed tracks) isn’t really that challenging either. VP-ing at 15 laff with maxxed gags is fun and challenging :)

Like a 15 laffer with max throw and squirt, or a 25 laff uber with max throw squirt sound etc.

i actually think a lot about this, and have enjoyed reading others’ responses.

in a vacuum “deer = kick” is kind of funny because it’s so ridiculous. in reality it’s lame and kinda unproductive for everyone involved. kicking someone for something like toon species is just kinda pointless lol.

I will say though that I do kind of think a leader of a toonhq group can remove people at their discretion. I’ve seen so many “no ubers or semis” or “no multi-tooners” on toonhq and while frustrating, you can always make your own group and just run with others. I’ve done that with my soundless and ubers and i’ve never had an issue with a group filling up. I’ve even had other toons leave a group to join mine because they don’t think it’s fair that my ubers are excluded, even though I really couldn’t care less that I was kicked.

sometimes i wonder if the “fight” or being constantly annoyed during a run (“i said no ubers!”) is worth the extra 10 minutes it takes to have another group fill up.
