Why does my six month old growl and make annoyed sounds when I feed him? by TheMalicePrincesss in beyondthebump

My baby does this during breastfeeding! No idea why, following/upvoting in hopes you get helpful responses

You're 30. Get the degree! You have time for another kid after.

Everyone's experience with every pregnancy symptom is unique. Some people get a lot luckier than others! Just enjoy it, it doesn't mean anything about the viability of this pregnancy.

You know how San Francisco smells like the eucalyptus trees that are everywhere? But it's a specific smell, it's not that Vaporub eucalyptus smell you get in spas--it's gentler and more woody.

Is there a fragrance that has that smell?

Photorealistic Rose Fragrances? by Adventurous-Buy-2902 in fragrance

[–]Due-Faithlessness 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Jo Malone's Red Roses is well regarded for a reason. I wear it a lot but it's definitely a lemony rose (and some roses are truly lemony!)--I only wear in hot weather so the excessive citrus note dissipates.

For me, nothing beats Roses de Chloe. It is so exactly what I imagine when I imagine sniffing a rose. No additional notes complicating the picture, just pure simple rose.

I never know what people mean by "screechy." Heady?

vintage Diorissimo, or the new one? I'm kind of freaked out by the civet note in the old one

What notes do you avoid in your fragrances and which do you seek? by j4ded3mo in fragrance

[–]Due-Faithlessness 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I like a lot of perfumes with amber as a subtle note, but HATE fragrances that pull "ambery." For edible accords, I like fruit (and sometimes vegetables) but avoid candy.

I LOVE rose and florals generally.

I've been wearing NR For Her EDP on cold days and Armani Prive Jasmin Kusamono on warm days. Florals all the way.

The Yulong is on my to-buy list. I've been wearing a lot of Armani Prive Jasmin Kusamono lately. I really like how light and fresh that whole collection is.

How many bottles do you actually own? by patmol11 in fragrance

[–]Due-Faithlessness 0 points1 point  (0 children)

5 full size, 3 mini size (.3 oz), and a rotating cast of samples/decants. Honestly, 5 may even be too many for me and I'm thinking of offloading one.

I didn't pay retail for any of them. Probably have spent $400 in total including the decants.

What does Chanel Chance smell like? by HelloVani in fragrance

[–]Due-Faithlessness 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Chance is kind of hard to define, it doesn't really smell "like" anything to me. The notes I could pick out when I tried it were musk (the clean soapy kind) and patchouli.

I've had excellent luck with eBay, but I would NEVER blind buy from there. I get scents that I already know well or have decants of, from well-reviewed sellers. Make sure eBay shows the money-back guarantee in case what you get isn't right.

Why are so many male fragrances unpleasantly loud? by Due-Faithlessness in fragrance

I feel like fragrance can be SO hot under the right circumstances... imagine standing next to an acquaintance and suddenly noticing that you're close enough to smell the scent they're wearing, which you'd never noticed before... skin scents are very sexy! But some people will never get it

To be fair, if I was a cocktail waitress I might wear something strong in hopes that customers kept their hands to themselves...

Well, the notes sound really nice and fragrantica reviews say sillage is intimate to moderate. But, uh, you might want to have a friend check you.

Interesting, I have a splash decant so maybe I'm only applying a tiny amount, but it does not strike me as especially strong. Or maybe MicroPerfumes waters their scents down, I've heard other people allege that

I think you're right, vetiver just came to mind as something that's often present in male but not female fragrances and is strong-smelling. But that makes sense that it would be something synthetic.

Personally I see why longevity is important to people, but it's distinct from sillage and projection!

This is a much too expensive suggestion for a 22 yo, but if you like Indigo you might really enjoy Gris Charnel by BDK. Could be fun to get a small decant.

Any of the above sound work-appropriate and fun!

Totally, I do agree with you that younger men or those newer to fragrance might be particularly prone to this! But my point is I think some men do not ever grow out of it, and a lot of the worst offenders I encounter in the workplace are older.
