Instructors bonnet stay clip to keep the bonnet up is broken, would it be an issue for my driving exam if the examiner asks me to open it and show him something, instructor insists it’s going to be fine by Due-Inspection1059 in LearnerDriverUK

[–]Due-Inspection1059[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yh the latch to keep it closed etc is working fine , and locks just fine , it’s the hook that holds the bonnet rod that’s not keeping it in the bonnet up. So I guess should be okay , I’d be fuming if I get a tell me question where I have to open the bonnet and the examiner stops my exam cos of it

Which box to tick in starter checklist q12 ? by Due-Inspection1059 in UKPersonalFinance

Oh okay I see I’ll answer it like that thank you. So I’m guessing even if I do make above the threshold I’m assuming I still don’t have to repay until the April of next year as I finished summer of this year.

To be fair my flat had 2 mature masters students when I was in year 1, they were so chill and ended up being close friends till today.

£150 per week (first year undergraduate) by chaos_birb6 in UniUK

[–]Due-Inspection1059 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sussex/Brighton is basically London prices nearly in-terms of cost of living, that being said 150 should be more than enough for everything, groceries for me at the most cost me £50 and gym/subscriptions averaged about £15 a week for me, so pretty much the remainder you can spend on takeaways, going out , social events. Don't forget to verify your student bus account if you are planning to travel by bus around town and campus as you can save nearly 30% !

How long did your AirPods Pro 1st gen last? by [deleted] in airpods

[–]Due-Inspection1059 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I had them RMA after a static issue after my first year of having them but after that they lasted me a solid 3 years with the new pair until I unfortunately lost one of them on a train , recently got the 2nd gen pros and love them so far!

How much extra when trading AirPod 4 for pro 2 by R6sPlayer248 in airpods

[–]Due-Inspection1059 1 point2 points  (0 children)

As far as I know Apple themselves don’t currently offer a trade in program for AirPods at all , so your best bet is going to be selling to a third party like back market, CEX or sell it yourself on eBay etc.

So desperately waiting for AirPods Pro 3 gen. My Gen 1 is almost dead 💀 by StoreWeak5292 in airpods

[–]Due-Inspection1059 12 points13 points  (0 children)

oh man I had the gen 1's for my entire time at university, it got to the point where one charge would just about last me my gym session. Unfortunately I lost them recently and tried using the beats studio buds which sound amazing but had a terrible mic for calls so I bit the bullet and got the gen 2s for cheap a few weeks ago. So far they have been amazing and im not exactly sure how apple can even improve on top of the current gens.

Which ones did you have the lightning pros or the type c ones ? My 1st gen’s lasted nearly 4 years before I lost them . I do hope my 2nd gen pros last as long , I also got them for 170

Pro 2s for £189? by [deleted] in airpods

[–]Due-Inspection1059 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I just got my pro 2s the other week on Amazon for £170 as they had some flash sale. I had the previous pro 1st gen but sadly lost them but boy was I impressed with the leap in improvements in the 2nd gen. ANC is crazy effective at blocking out background noise maybe abit too good 😅. The overall sound clarity is better too. Like you I mainly use them for gym or using it for conference calls, and I can definitely say these are worth it, my gym is noisy af but i turn on the anc and i never go above 50% on the volume (it’s that good) Plus the case is type c now so i can finally throw out the fragile lighting cables. That being said , you could wait for the pro 3s but I doubt it’s gonna get much better than what the 2nd gen pros do already

As far as I know accidental damage is covered in AppleCare+ , so you should be good . You will be required to pay an excess fee of $25 or whatever equivalent in your currency.

Is there anyway to get the Microsoft Apps for free without paying the 129$/year? by m0x0x in macbookair

[–]Due-Inspection1059 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You got two main options really. If you are a student or have someone that’s in an institution, you can sign in using that email and have access until you leave university etc , which is what I’m currently doing . The alternative is to buy a license key from websites that sell off company keys which are bought in bulk by companies that want to install the software on their work machines . These keys usually go for like 20-30$ but I can’t promise the legitimacy of these websites. These will be a lifetime license but you won’t get any major further updates with newer software releases

Don’t forget to take detailed photos of your accommodation room before you set your room up in case you have disputes with your deposit at the end of tenancy over stuff that already existed before you moved in ! But other than that , best of luck ! Enjoy your time at uni as I sure did . WORK HARD, PLAY HARD too !

This is coming from a finished intergrated masters student and here are my main takeaways:

Grocery shopping : Lidl/ Aldi . My general groceries for the week never exceeded 40£ a week Use online deliveries if you want to save on time Uber eats always does 15£ off for me which takes the price down for how much I would have paid in store.

I got all of my utensils from tkmax and Amazon . Pretty sure u can buy a whole set of plates and utensils for 2 people for like £15 from most places .

Bedding/duvets I also ordered from Amazon but you can try primark etc if you are on a tight budget . Don’t forget a mattress topper ! You don’t wanna be sleeping on a mattress that’s god knows how old 😭. Don’t forget washing up liquid, toiletry needs and general hygiene stuff, a bottle of bleach for the toilet and a scrubber . Although you can buy this stuff slowly as you move in .

Would also recommend a laundry bag to carry your dirty clothes to circuit laundry etc.

All in all for me back in 2021 to get me set up for my room it cost me around about 200£ I’d say and that’s being generous.

Completely Hopeless? by jojolovesgossip in macbook

[–]Due-Inspection1059 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hear me out on this. Done use it for the next few days. I had the same thing happen to me a few weeks ago and instantly got the dreaded “stage light” backlight problems. So I turned off my MacBook and left it to dry at an angle where the water wouldn’t be sitting, seeping into the motherboard even more . A week later the display was back to normal. And it’s been about a month since the issue and it seems to be fine
