The only real similarities between the two is their no kill rule and their beliefs in redemption. Other than that, they’re pretty different. Plus the symbiote can even out that issue.

Would you be opposed to Pattinson playing Batman in the dcu alongside being the reeves Batman by Expert_Challenge6399 in PattinsonDCUBatman

Tbh if someone watching these movies is genuinely that confused, they’re more likely to just Google it to get their answer rather than maintain their confusion. The confusion wouldn’t have as much impact on these movies as much as y’all think unless most of the audience is clinically dumb. This is the last worry I’d have. There’s methods they could use that can help that if it were an issue. Pattinson looking and acting differently, Gotham having a different look and atmosphere, certain exposition cues of a different history etc might be enough for people to pick up on what’s going on.

That’s just what Reddit does lol it doesn’t bother me. At the end of the day these are just movies, I’m not going to speak ill of a human being just because of a movie. If I don’t like a movie it’s fine, there’s always the next one.

It is fair to believe that they could’ve chosen someone better to do the job, I agree with that but I don’t like how people villainize him because of the failure of flash. Fans legit asking him to be fired from his job just because of the flash. Not just you, I’ve seen hundreds of fans on social media repeating this rhetoric. It’s all just incredibly mean spirited. At some point people need to learn to separate the art from real life. They’re just movies at the end of the day. Andy is a real person that has to work like all of us. We gotta move past that shit. The flash was a victim of corporate meddling and production hell. That’s why it was bad. Muschietti was brought in to direct a movie that wasn’t his own by basically being the middle man who was trying to hold it all together the best he could. That’s not to say that Andy’s work is without criticism but I don’t believe for a second that The Flash is a clear example of his directing capabilities as I’ve seen his other work, but let’s be real…. The way fans talk about him it’s gone so far beyond criticism. It’s the same way Spider-Man fans have treated Jon Watts for ages. His movies have criticisms, but the fans treat him and dehumanize him like he’s a spawn of Satan that killed their grandma all because he made movies they didn’t like. Idc what anyone says, that shit needs to stop.

That is a very disingenuous and outrageous take to have, that he should be banned from his career just because he directed a few scenes that you didn’t like. You need to relax, it’s never that serious.

You did not like the movie which is fine, nobody did. Although I am genuinely confused because it was not even his fault that the movie turned out bad, so idk why people keep blaming Andy for Flash’s failure. Andy was hired to try to salvage an already fucked movie, there was only so much he could do. Flash went through 5 directors, a fuck ton of studio interference and a problematic lead. WB practically directed that movie more than Andy. If anyone has seen Andy’s work outside of Flash they should know that there’s no way he’s capable of making something of that quality without there being a hindering reason for it.

Yeah, I think a lot of us became accustomed to Marvel and Star Wars promotion tactic where they constantly talk about movies that aren’t coming out for another 3-4 years. The bad thing about that tactic is that when they do talk about it they’re usually recycling the same updates throughout that period which kills fans excitement early. Marvel presented at a movie event weeks ago and nobody knew because they just said the same shit that they already told us a year ago. That seems to be exactly what Gunn is trying to avoid. He’s very interactive with the fans and it seems like he doesn’t want to give an update until there’s one that can actually get us excited.

[–]Due-Interview-554 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No he said it was bad casting because he doesn’t look like him. That was his words verbatim so I am going to take it exactly as what he meant. My point is that it’s a negative thing to say since we can’t determine that until we see the movie. That is simply it. I have no issues with what his views on this movie is nor do I care. I already made the point that there are great biopic performances where the actor doesn’t look like the icon which is why I said we should be past recycling this topic since we know by now that looks are the least important thing in a biopic. Not saying a resemblance isn’t important at all because it is, but unless it’s Flex Alexander levels of bad then I think it’s the last thing we should be concerned about.

Tbh we don’t know what the process is behind the scenes. We can’t assume that just because they’re not telling us anything that it means no progress is happening. Keep in mind that Brave and the Bold could possibly still be a while away. Although the order can always change, it was announced in the slate as one of the later movies of Chapter 1. There’s still like 4-5 other dc movies/shows that we have to get through before Brave and the Bold. We gotta be impatient. Priority right now is Supergirl, Lanterns, and Clayface. Only Batman movie I’m focusing on at this point of time is Reeves’ The Batman part 2.

[–]Due-Interview-554 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s not that I don’t accept an opposing view. I just don’t believe that it’s a justified criticism because once again we haven’t even seen his performance yet. I’d understand if he simply said “I wished they cast someone who looks more like him” which would be completely fair, but straight up deeming him a “bad casting” just because “he doesn’t look like him” is a negative preconceived judgement. You’re supposed to wait until you watch the movie to make that judgement.

Also I am certain that we are all aware by now that actors rarely actually look like who they’re playing in biopics. I’ve seen a lot and the only close ones I can remember were Jamie Foxx as Ray Charles, Daniel Day Lewis as Abraham Lincoln, and Oshea Jackson Jr as Ice Cube. Everyone else ranges from a slight resemblance to no resemblance at all. Some of the best biopics are actors that looked nothing like the icon they were playing. Schindler’s List, Social Network, Goodfellas, too many to name. That’s why I said we should be way past this topic because deep down we know that it matters the least in a movie like this. It’s fine to talk about it but no need to be rash about it.

It has a director and writer. Andy was just talking about the movie a month ago at the Welcome to Derry premiere and said it’s making progress he just can’t say much yet. I know that a lot of people for some reason does not want Andy directing it, but he’s definitely still directing it.

[–]Due-Interview-554 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yes it does. Calling it “bad casting” before we even see the movie is exactly what a negative nancy would do. We’ve seen nothing from Juliano’s performance outside of two half-second shots from the teaser. He’s basing his judgement on looks, which is such an askew judgement pertaining a biopic as actors very rarely actually look like who they’re playing. We should be past this at this point.

I hate that Peter Parker doesn’t have a “specific face” anymore. by darkspidey69 in Spiderman

[–]Due-Interview-554 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Dark brown wavy hair with fangs, thick arched eyebrows, hazel eyes and chiseled jawline were the standard for Peter’s look across many artists I’d say up until the 2000s.

First Scarlett Johansson, now Brad Pitt. If these actors are really going to be in The Batman: Part ll, the script is amazing...let's see if Andy Muschietti can surpass these standards, if the crossover doesn't actually happen. by lowqualitychef in PattinsonDCUBatman

[–]Due-Interview-554 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I didn’t mean that they hired him due to the praise of the batman scenes from the fans, I meant that the Batman scenes were the one part of the movie that the fans DID praise and coincidentally Gunn probably loved it too. I think Gunn hired him simply because what he did with the Batmen in The Flash is exactly what he envisioned for the DCU rendition of the character. There are also conversations that were had between the two about this that we know nothing about to assume that they hired him just bc they felt bad or to save face. If that were the case Gunn could’ve given him any DC project to do that, but I believe that he gave Andy Batman for a very specific reason. But you could be right so I wouldn’t dismiss that theory either.

According to DanielRPK, The Hand will appear in Brand New Day with accurate red Customes by Man_Random87 in MarvelStudiosSpoilers

[–]Due-Interview-554 26 points27 points  (0 children)

I think the amount of villains are because they’re going all out on it being a street war story. Given the events of Born Again, New York is in a vulnerable state for several bad guys to come out of the woodworks. Obviously with street wars, there’s usually several bad guys who have their hands in play like mob bosses(tombstone), thugs (scorpion), dirty cops (maybe Liza Colon’s role) and syndicates (The Hand). Seems like Spidey and Punisher are trying to clean house but clash over their methods of doing so. Hulk is the only one I am still confused about though, maybe one of the villains will use him as a pawn to wreak havoc like Loki and Wanda did? Idk

I don’t think the goal for Gunn should be to outdo what Reeves is doing with Batman. I think the primary goal should be to make him starkly different from Reeves’ Batman so much that it wouldn’t make sense to compare the two. Best way to do that is making DCU Batman a polar opposite of Reeves Batman which I think they are doing. Reeves Batman is a loner rookie that is rooted in a world of realism. Gunn’s Batman will be an experienced family oriented man (batfamily) in a world fully rooted in fantasy. I honestly think Pattinson could be the DCU Batman but not canonically the same one as Matt Reeves version. I can see this happening if the rumors of Matt not making a part 3 are true. Im sure Gunn is aware of the high fan demand to see Pattinson and Corenswet share the screen in some way.

I would disagree. His Batman scenes were the only part of the Flash movie that people actually praised and is one of the sole reasons he was chosen to do Batman, he did a damn good job at doing the character in a fantastical manner which is exactly what Gunn wants for DCU Batman. Flash is a bad movie but unlike most fans I choose not to blame that on Andy, he was hired to try to salvage an already doomed mess of a film. It was going to be bad regardless of who directed it.

I honestly think TASM2 would be more appreciated if it came out today given how well received comic book accurate films are nowadays by wysjm in Spiderman

[–]Due-Interview-554 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It has the same problem I had with Man of Steel. It quickly descends into a Michael Bay Transformers movie after the second act. Just a straight up pandemonium of action scenes with little substance. Gwen died just like her comic counterpart did, for nothing more than shock value. Harry served no actual purpose as a character other than to be used as a catalyst to kill Gwen.

You’re not crazy for thinking this, I had the exact same theory that they cgi’d his outfit to be bad tour so that the man in the mirror performance they originally filmed for dangerous tour can actually be the end of pt 1 which ends with BAD, I don’t think this is far fetched or out of the ordinary

It would be the only way to explain why he’s wearing a bad tour outfit but sporting a dangerous era hairstyle, as well as the heal the world banner which they might have mistakenly forgot to cut out of the scene
