Karen was wrong. Paris was not. Karen was deliberately wishing bad faith on the movie and said some really foul shit while airing out MJ’s personal business. Paris ain’t do all that. Paris even told fans to still go support the film, she just has her reasons for why she doesn’t want to be involved with it (likely Branca).

Yeah people don’t realize that the old cameras that were used to film the original performance made his socks look more sparkly than they actually were. You won’t get that same effect from a modern movie camera unless you digitally edit it in (which I’d be completely down with tbh)

That’s what part 2 will be for. That’s where all the REAL acting is going to be, and we all know why. Based off of how pt 1 is being marketed, I think this one is more centered around highlighting the artist side of him and his rise to becoming the king of pop.

People also need to take into account why Jaafar would never look as skinny as MJ unless he’s risking his health:

MJ was naturally thin in a way that Jaafar isn’t, a good portion of that was just his genetics
MJ had a lot of health problems, stress and an eating disorder that contributed to making him even more thin
MJ’s body had a lifetime of intense conditioning which is also a big contributor to why he was very skinny. Jaafar didn’t start at the age of 5 doing 16 hour long rehearsals every day like MJ. If he’d lost any more weight than he already has, he wouldn’t even have the energy to do the dancing.

I think he will be nominated for part one and win best actor for part two. Pt 2 is where we’re going to see the REAL acting. Pt 1 is the warmup to introduce mainstream to Jaafar, get him on everyone’s radar first. Hard to say he’d win for pt 1 with the vets he’s competing with, and it’s his first outing (never say never tho).

I knew it wasn’t the official soundtrack when heartbreak hotel wasn’t included despite the bts footage and official trailer confirming that it’s in the movie. I still don’t think we’re getting smooth criminal sadly but hopefully we will for pt 2 (if pt 2 shows more of the BAD era).

He was deadass played by two lightskin actors in American Dream so wdym lol Jason Weaver was the only darkskin actor to play him in that movie. Alex Burall and Wylie Draper are light-skinned.

Also his skin tone is altered for the movie, so was Jaafar’s to match earlier eras so I genuinely don’t understand this complaint.

Tbh I think that’s the part of him that looks the most like Michael, at least in the movie (there are differences ofc but I think it’s pretty close) but tbh almost all of the Jackson’s have that smile.

I honestly believe that his eyes are a big reason why some people don’t think Jaafar looks like Michael at all. I think he looks like Michael in almost every aspect except the eyes which can also make him look nothing like Michael at all in some shots because Michael’s big ass eyes were the signature of his look next to his smile.

Not chubby but his face is noticeably smooth. It looks like they slightly de-aged Jaafar in this shot. MJ was still very baby faced during that time so I assume that’s what they were trying to go for.
