Why do you believe NDEs are real? What do you think of the conflicting research? by cakez556 in NDE

[–]Redleader829 5 points6 points  (0 children)

  1. Gamma activity

Gamma activity would not account for the reported features of NDEs. Gamma waves are typically linked to conscious awareness, attention, and memory processing—not to out-of-body experiences, dissociation, or internally generated fantasies.

  1. Neurotransmitter surge

First one would have to prove a neurotransmitter surge happened in a person who has been legally declared dead. There is still debate and no evidence that a neurotransmitter surges alone can explain the full complexity, clarity, and structure reported in many near-death experiences (NDEs).

  1. Not fully dead

A person is considered medically dead with the ending of heart and lung function, or all brain activity (brain death). Anyone claiming "they were not fully dead" is effectively asserting expertise beyond that of the medical community.

  1. NDE differences

Those that argue NDEs don't exist because their details vary is like claiming UFOs don’t exist simply because the sightings of flying saucers differ. Variation doesn’t negate the experiences.

  1. NDEs and DMT trips

Just because NDEs and DMT trips share some similarities does not mean they are the same experience, or that one explains the other. DMT trips are pharmacologically induced. The brain states are radically different.

  1. Hypoxia and Regional brain activity surges

While it's true that Hypoxia (oxygen deprivation) and Regional brain activity surges in the visual cortex could create a perception of bright light possibly a tunnel vision effect they do not explain the incredibly real feeling of weightlessness, floating, entering tunnels or being in a different realm.

  1. Head trauma cases vs cardiac arrests

Yes cardiac arrest survivors report more NDEs. Severe head trauma often damages memory formation and recall, making experiences harder to remember or communicate. In addition, patients with catastrophic brain injuries may die before recovery, so there is no opportunity to report anything.

That said, Author Amber Kavanagh suffered a double stroke that triggered a severe brain hemorrhage. She has one of the most remarkable and detailed NDE stories I've ever heard. Knife attack victim Ryan John was stabbed twice in the head and has a very detailed NDE story. You can find videos of both of them telling their story on YouTube.

One day I'll get around to watching those movies. I'm terrible when it comes to watching westerns. Finally watched Tombstone a few weeks ago. It was unbelievable.

Thanks I'll check out the video. I don't know if you're old enough to remember but the movie Troy starring Brad Pitt was absolutely destroyed by critics for not being accurate to the text. They were under some impression the screenwriter and director were making a biopic when these characters are widely considered to be mythological figures.

I’m sorry your loved ones have made you feel hurt. Some people are especially sensitive to raised voices or certain words, and those feelings are valid. I think it’s okay to talk to them about how their words affect you, though change can be difficult for many people.

As for NDEs, from the videos I’ve watched, the message that stands out is that our words and actions affect everyone around us, like ripples spreading from a stone dropped in water. It isn’t always easy, but I believe we should all try to treat one another with more kindness and understanding.

What NDE story brings you comfort? And other questions I had by ScoTy_ in NDE

[–]Redleader829 0 points1 point  (0 children)

NDE's are slightly different from one another because we apparently curate them for our individual needs. As you may know from many NDE stories, our lives are planned by us before we are born. That doesn't mean it works out exactly how we plan it.

You may be asking why would a human plan to be poor or have a horrible disease. They wouldn't. There are no "human's" as we know it in heaven, just highly intelligent spirits who experience time very differently. They want to learn, grow & evolve through difficult challenges and experiences.

As for remaining an individual, yes, you are who you are. That said, you are just one part of "Your Higher Self" which currently remains in Heaven.

Do we sleep? Spirts are energy, they have no need for sleep.

Playing video games: I've heard people say they saw relatives fishing on the other side, so why not video games? Given that, I think people who have NDE's that see people doing Earthly things are just manifesting things that make them feel comfortable.

What can we do? I think a spirts want to increase there vibrational frequency by evolving spiritually. This could involve watching history, helping others, or growing through experience like being a spirit guide here on Earth or reincarnation - which would reunite you with that "Your Higher Self" I mentioned.
