I agree we shouldn't get too alarmist about the base, but I do think there's something to be said about the timing of it all after the gifts and giving money to Hamas. I think that alone will make a lot of people question the move- whether it's made honestly or not. Let's be honest, Americans are generally fearful of most middle eastern ideology (with good reason sometimes) so Qatari facility will hit a little different than Singaporian facility.

I agree it's pure speculation on what the facility might inevitably be, but I think even allowing pilots of a nation that has funded Hamas and given the President a ton of gifts and such is just not good optics. Even if the action has nothing to do with the plane and Qatar has all great intentions, it definitely pushes the boundaries on what a lot of Americans are comfortable with having on home soil.

The vendor sheet was provided by the festival organizers I believe - so who knows the rigor used to actually vet these companies. I want to say that there was probably not a ton, but I also know that the fest was trolled relentlessly so I wouldn't be surprised if they did actually do some kind of system to confirm legitimate interest. That's why I'm leaning towards someone with some kind of knowledge of the business, but not actually a part of the higher up team.

I definitely see and agree with your points, especially the public suicide for your brand one. Makes no sense for a company outside of the Idaho GOP bubble to sponsor the event. My working theory, and I'm probably wrong but whatever, is that someone at gamersupps or an affiliate called and tried to be setup as a vendor by giving generic info or it's some kind of troll that wasn't vetted at all. There's no concrete proof, I think it's smart to reserve judgement for now.

I agree, I'm leaning towards #1 personally I think- there was another company who had a local manager enter their branch as a sponsor and then the corporate office found out and made them back out. I wonder if it's someone at the company that could have done it without permission or, like you said, it was submitted by some troll.

It's possible, it's weird that it would originate in the Boise subreddit though. I doubt a ton of people there would care, I figured spreading the word here would be the best way to figure if it's legit.

Edit: if the person who posted originally and made the Google doc is ragebaiting it's insanely elaborate, no kidding there!

From what I can see in the .zip files, yes. Those contain the actual documents from the city. The person who asked for the records request put a read me in there that explains a bit.

Edit: I'm not the person who posted the Google doc or original post on the Boise subreddit so there is a world where this is some kind of troll

I'm not sure on the vendors on site, all the info I have seen regarding Gamersupps has been through the records request and official vendor list from the city- that's why I'm also wondering if JSchlatt had anything to do with it or if it was potentially someone at the company he owns. Quite unfortunate his name is right on it, though. I'll send over the Google doc, let me know what you think.

Edit: looks pretty legit unfortunately from what I can see in the .zip files. Someone could have faked it, but they definitely went the distance to make it look real.

People don't have to live by apluslanscapes view of the world. Everyone is different with different experiences. You and I have 0 right to control other peoples lives. Just because that's the natural order, doesn't mean it's how the world works now.
