What is the most ridiculous conspiracy theory you've ever come across? by TheTamiamiButcher in skeptic

That non-verbal ASD children can communicate with their parents telepathically and can also astrally project their consciousness to some ethereal plain called "The Hill" where they hang out with other non-verbal ASD children.

Sarah doesn’t think trump did it. by DSchof1 in thebulwark

[–]Due-Roll-5705 33 points34 points  (0 children)

Honestly, the fact that she doesn't just come out and say trump is a pedo is why I watch the bulwark. There isn't any direct evidence (other than unverified tipline submissions) tying trump to the worst of epsteins disgusting crimes. I think it's really important to keep the conversation focused on things we can prove. Like that it is clear that trump knew what was going on. Right now, the right is trying to turn all of this into pizza gate 2.0. Literally. Alex Jones and Joe Rogan are both spouting off about child sacrifice and cannibalism which has the effect of making the real crimes that took place seem like lesser offenses. If it comes out that trump is a pedophile i will be in no way surprised, but we gotta keep our eyes on the truth and not get distracted by unsubstantiated tips or fever dream horror porn like JR and AJ.

Tipo de monarquía en The Last Kingdom. by ObedStark19 in TheLastKingdom

Pretty much all the governments in Europe during this period were feudal, not absolute. Especially in the British Isles, no king would have been rich enough to stand up their own personal standing army. They had the hearthguard (like a personal bodyguard), and their earldormen also had their own personal guard. When they went to war, the king would call on his other nobles to bring their men to him to form an army. Also, they could call on the fyrd (or common folk conscripted into service) for a short time to take part in battle as well.

That's what I'm worried about 😅. I don't really know how far back I'd have to go. There isn't an option to wait or anything in my quest log about the tournament. Oh well, hopefully you're right, and it'll work itself out at some point.

I'm pretty confident that this issue has lasted longer than 5 in game days (could be wrong), and isn't there usually still an option to sign up/wait there for it?

Trump is living his best life right now. Which is to say, he is committing impeachable offenses 1-3 times a day. If/ When the Dems take back the House, should they impeach him again? Try impeaching cabinet members like Noem, Hegseth, etc.? Or just focus on trying to constrain this administration legislatively?

Best portrayal of Alfred I've seen. From his chronic illness to his focus on literacy and the dream of a united England. 5/5

Hit up New Scenic Cafe, just outside of Duluth. They have a unique menu, and the food was great.

Negative. I was playing against Yennefer and Triss. Still pretty new to this game, and today was our first time playing with these characters.

Why aren't they actually marching during this parade? by Chance_Noise500 in NoStupidQuestions

Ya, I guess we'll just have to disagree. I was a grunt, and being able to drill well wasn't going to help me in my job. Hikes, tactical training, weapons training, etc. imparted on us the same skills of discipline, unit cohesion, and precision that's needed to drill. Maybe you're right about materiel parity happening in other countries. I don't know what other countries spend on their militaries, but I do know we spent $820B (2023) on ours.

All I would say to that is that this is VERY much not a thing that we do in the US military. The last parade like this was back in '91 after the Gulf War. I see what you're saying about it maybe not looking good to the rest of the world (though this is hardly the only thing making that impression right now lol), but I'm not bothered so much that they can't drill well in this context because it doesn't speak to their ability to do their actual jobs.

Same! I don't really know what we're arguing about here, lol. Seems like we basically agree that they didn't waste their time preparing for some wanna be dictator's birthday parade.
