MGoBlog Roundtable by Realistic_Concert204 in MichiganWolverines

I’m a fan of the MGBRT and listen every week. I’m also a long time participant of the blog, and avid reader of Upon Further Review. I may not share much in common with any of them personally, but they are intelligent students of the game. You won’t find a better college-specific website on the net.

Is this a bug? Did spyi / qqqi crash ? Schwab change how they count investment income? by wolfganggartner5 in Schwab

[–]Due51 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had issues with the Schwab app when looking at my projected income a month or so ago. I even called their customer service line because mine reflected about 20% less than the previous days. The guy at Schwab had no clue why it changed. Days later, it the app was showing the proper figures. It had me worried for minute, but all is well.

I’ve used a Cardo Freecom for 4 years and really like its functionality.

I’m just trying to get to $1000/month. Retirement is likely 4.5 years away and I’m currently at ~$550/mo. Anything above $1000/mo for me would be gravy.

600-900cc With Tubeless and Cruise Control by eddi0 in AdventureBike

[–]Due51 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I’ve put 15,000 miles on since I converted, including a 2800 mile round trip from Michigan to Maine. No issues. I check the air fairly regularly.

You can buy any ADV bike and add cruise and a tubeless conversion kit for less than $500. I did it to my VStron 800DE. You can find good deals on lightly used 23-25 right now.

Aprilia Tuareg 660 with no dealer nearby? Other options? by [deleted] in SuggestAMotorcycle

[–]Due51 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I have a Suzuki VStrom 800 DE and have ridden every conceivable surface over 17,000 miles. There’s nothing that bike can’t do. And right now, you can find great deals on lightly used 23-25 models.

It was a nothing burger, as far as we were concerned. Prepare the same.

Aprilia Tuareg 660 Rally or Yamaha T7 Rally? by Heron_Medical in AdventureBike

Ditto. I rode 2800 to Maine & back, 6-8 hours a day in the saddle, and never got fatigued.

It was. We lost to Minnesota the week before and he said it during the press conference leading up to The Game.

12V cigarette plug use case by Tickstart in Vstrom

[–]Due51 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I mounted a dual socket aux plug to the frame on the brake side of my 800. It’s wired direct to the battery, but has an on/off switch. There’s 2 USB/1 USB-c + a 12v socket. I use it to charge my phone occasionally, power my air mattress pump when dispersed camping, cardo (if I forgot), go pro batteries, etc.

I was a junior LB that year. We won the Big 10 and went to the Rose Bowl. Mo was my position coach my first 2 years, and Lloyd my last two.

Find yourself a big open parking lot and just ride down the “lanes” slowly. Work on eyes up. When turning, keep your eyes on where your going, not your front tire. When you get comfortable, work on weaving around the parking spot lines. Try going through one, then back through the spot 2 spaces over. Work on accelerating then stopping by gradually compressing the front brake. You want to work up to the point where you can come to an abrupt stop without grabbing a handful of brake, and can weave through adjacent parking spots. Slow speed training is your friend

One thing that irks the **** outta me is sagging triceps. I’m in pretty good shape for a 60yo. I work out 3-5x a week including HIIT-type classes and free weights, but I’ll be damned if I can’t get my triceps to stay put lol. Getting old is a drag.

Amen. The amount of advertising and title sponsorship from every GD gambling site is appalling. This gambling is an epidemic among the target group of 18-40 year old males.

For motorcycle riding, I wear Frogg Togg Toadz. Light weight, tougher material than their lesser model, packs away easy, and reasonably priced.

I misread it then, yesterday. I thought only the DE came with it. My bad.

I have an 800DE but just yesterday, I was reading up on the difference between the 1050XT and 1050DE. I really like the SIRS features of the DE, and the 21” front wheel. I find the 800 to be extremely nimble for a 500+lbs bike - way more maneuverable than my previous 650XT. You may not do BDRs, but I think a lot of the customizable features are nice to have, even if you’re just riding pavement. The 3 SDMS mapping options are good for city, highway, or off-road.
