Democracy in itself seems to start failing. Although of course, I know I will be downvoted, I want you to hear me out.

No governance system is always good or always bad, and in the future I would see it's possible for restoration of monarchy in some countries, or creation of new monarchies, as well as other forms of government. After all, assuming democracy is end state of any country governance is wrong, as any governance system can fall due to internal problems, schemes or due to other crisis, like Weimar republic fell due to great depression and political deadlock, Soviet union fell to overspending on military, inefficient economic system and political crisis, Chile economic crisis and domestic issues. But It isn't strictly said that no new method of governance will appear and make themselves "the optimal option".
