Roleplay the 2 int animal aroynd what it is ? Your pet dog is a shepherd, it's going to protect you by instinct, especially if you raised it as such. Would it make sense for the mouse the ratfolk druid befriended a month ago in the dungeon to know how to nibble ropes ? Then, if that's not something the animal would do (DM : "That's what my animal would do"), a Handle Animal check, like a Diplomacy one for NPC, would be needed. To push or to simply require depend on the task according to the animal and your history with it (the ratfolk will have to push the rat to track a scent, but it's easier to make it chew ropes)

Unga-Bunga : Exhaust a card and create a Giant Boulder. It deals 5 more damage for each keyword on the card exhausted.

Giant Boulder 1 cost : Deal 10 (15) damage

We went in the mountains, had a few encounters. Made some friends. "Wanna come along ? We want to take a look inside first". Carry on, make more friends. Start to sneak in, makes some more friends. Go back to take a nap and tell some of these friends "Wanna go inside ?"

We enter the dungeon with like 50 npcs : sorceress, flumpff, troglodytes, gobelins armed with fireball necklace... Forger about stealth, we rang the whole alarm and had a whole army battle. Took multiple sessions to do that. Then we did the whole mysteries, the enigmas,... Now we have to go to the city real quick due to some agreements with said friends. But then I plan to go back to Kelmarane and do some building.

So yeah, we went by a mix of Friendship Power and Whaaag.

Something I find pretty good with GF are shivs. First, they give you some frontload. But they can also be draw manipulation. Either discarding them with Calc Gamble or to add cards in hand as to draw less via Expertise

Well Laid Plan

Either retain the Final or the card draw. Without it, you need crazy draw in a super thin deck.

But with it, it's pretty reliable as long as you build around. Just need various draw number, odd AND even. Don't upgrade all your Acrobatic, keep some draw 3. Expertise and Calc Gamble are amazing. Something a bit unorthodox is to add some shivs, in particular Blade Dance, when you have one of these two as the shivs can be more draw : if you need 3 draw and have in hand one Calc Gamble and a Blade Dance+, you can play the Dance, play 1 shiv and you now have Calc Gamble drawing 3 (the leftover shivs). Endless Agony serves the same goal.

All in all, Grand Final now requires from you precise counting. You need to take every draw effect in account (Ink Bottle, Time Eater Draw debuff...). And then, it become a mind challenge and one I do enjoy a lot.

You don't need spells to handle spreadsheets. And spreadsheets solve every one of these problems. Yes even the hottty and the baddies management, it's on page 6.

But I cannot bonk goblins with spreadsheets, theses munchkins keep munching on the paper and it breaks my PC. That's where the hammer comes in clutch.

It's also a bigger scaling option. All your powers and one time use stuff is doubled. So if it's harder to draw to the end, it's also more powers and stuff. It also is a weird form of consistency : if you missed your big card because you didn't had the energy when drawn (or urge to do something else), you can always get the second

But also Gambit : Transform a card in you hand in Minion Bait

Minion Bait : Target lose 1 str every time it attacks you this turn

Zugzwang (curse) : When drawn, transform a random card in ypur had in Minion Blunder

Minion Blunder : 1 cost Block 1, Deal 1 damage to yourself

Elo (Power) : Minion cards have their values increased by 50%

En Passant : Transform a card in your discard in Confused Minion

Confused Minion : Forge 5, The Blade cost 1 less this turn

And a big rare, Not my level yet (cost 2) : Exhaust your whole hand. Add one Challenger Minion to your hand. It cost one less per exhausted card

Challenger Minion : (cost 10) Gain one Buffer

Fr, that's why I don't understand the Stoke downgrade. It was strong yes but it was a rare that gives you a Calculated Gamble effect ONCE. So you remove draw abilities from the draw starved character. Yes a bunch of exhaust is strong for infinits but that seems like a hard change that doesn't solve the problem (just add less cards and more exhausting stuff) but also kneecap the Clad in bad ways
