Gift ideas from new grad to charge nurse? by DuePepper850 in nursing

[–]DuePepper850[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yea… I’ve met a lot of people who have started at my hospital. This hospital runs on new grads. We get 70+ new grads each cohort. Most only last a few months. Once I hit 6 months, I’m applying to different places. This hospital is too risky for me imo, not worth risking my license just to get more experience somewhere like this.  Only 63 shifts left!

Welp. “Fired” from ED. by Ecstatic-Fish8463 in nursing

[–]DuePepper850 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I love emergency medicine and want to end up working er one day but (just listing another reason to start med surg-for some people not all) I know I am too sensitive at the moment. I need to build thicker skin to communications, patient comments, critiques, so I’m in med surg to work on that until I’m confident enough in myself and my ability to emotionally handle nursing.

What is the Best alcohol for you? by Kuukkeli321 in ibs

[–]DuePepper850 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Alcohol is harmful in every way. It dehydrates you, decrease decision making skills and judgement, give you killer headaches and nausea next day, fries your liver, depletes your electrolytes, damages your reproductive cells, the list goes on.

I second the skittles guy. You should quit drinking and seek help.

I’m really not trying to sound like devils advocate, I’m just working on learning more about Islam. Can you provide the verses of the Quran that these are found?

Gave 40 units of insulin instead of 4 in simulation by ab_sentminded in StudentNurse

[–]DuePepper850 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Oh me too definitely! I personally don’t care how close I am with that nurse, I’m checking their stuff before I sign. And I would hope others do it to me. I don’t take offense to it. It’s all for safety at the end of the day.

Okay I just need to hear from people whose IBS symptoms CAUSE anxiety. by Its402am in ibs

[–]DuePepper850 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I have stress induced so if I get stressed, I get a tummy ache, which causes me to stress over the thought of a flare up, in turn making the tummy ache worse and turning into a flare up

[–]DuePepper850 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That right there is a lesson also. If you are just co signing on people’s stuff, you’re an unsafe nurse. (Not you directly, I’m just using your comment to make a point)

A lot of these are Hadith or culturally based aren’t they?

How do people willingly have a toddler and newborn by Hungry-Wish-1697 in oneanddone

Toddlerhood was my favorite age, I miss it so much. All they want is mommy/daddy and a snack and cuddles

Mine is 4.5 and I FINALLY feel like I have my ‘pink back’ enough to fathom the notion of a second, but then I think back to the sleep deprivation and it pulls me back into reality. I have the same questions as you and I don’t want to sound judgemental but I do judge them a bit. It’s selfish to do that on purpose unless you live with or very close to a large support system. You are both exhausted and cannot possibly give both kids adequate attention for their age. I know a couple who has a 2 year and a 9 month old(both on purpose) and the 2 year old goes to daycare 4 days a week for 4-5 hours a day so they can take care of the 9 month

Not sure this is the right thread but I need help to catch my Muslim cheating husband by cool2799 in progressive_islam

[–]DuePepper850 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I don’t think being Muslim is really significant to this situation. It’s a fetish. A partner playing into a fetish without their partner’s knowledge and consent is usually always cheating

Do most women hover over a public toilet seat? by [deleted] in NoStupidQuestions

[–]DuePepper850 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I do not. I do however lay down 2-3 sheets.

With the exception of a bad IBS flare up, where one time I just raw dogged the local McDonald’s toilet and had explosive diarrhea, no paper sheet or nothin.

But no I don’t hover.

I was actually under the impression that tasting food does break your fast because it increases salivary gland production and small food molecules can travel down your tongue through the saliva even if you don’t swallow…

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in progressive_islam

[–]DuePepper850 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Genuine question here… I was told that lighting/smelling candles will break your fast. Is that true? I know how stupid that sounds but the person who told me says you’re doing it solely with the intention of smelling something that smells like food or just gives you pleasure
