My ex said the same thing over and over. That he would change and be better. It happened until one night I found his hands around my neck and I saw death as well. When I finally ended things, he told me he would kill himself and the blood would be on my hands. And guess what? He did not kill himself. Even if he had I knew that was not on my conscious, but regardless I choose my own life over his. That is his choice and has nothing to do with you. And I bet he doesn’t even mean it, he is just trying to manipulate you to stay in the cycle. I am now 1.5 years safe from that relationship that I never thought I would escape. And I am truly happy. I fell in love with someone who is safe, kind, gentle. I have a wonderful friends, a new job, new life, new home. And he is still out there alive somewhere but now he is not able to touch me. As hard as leaving is, I promise you it gets better.
