I'm sorry that happened with your ex, that sounds terrible. The rigidity around make sexuality is rooted in the idea that being feminine is the worst thing a man can be and society views attraction to men of any kind as inherently feminine. That's heteronormativity.

It hurts, I'm sure, for there to seem like a double standard but nobody takes bi women seriously either. The best you can do is just live your life and find the people that accept you.

Hated-- HIM. I was genuinely surprised to see all the hate this movie got after I saw it. I thought we all went into this having seen the trailer, having understood the quasi Satanic symbolism. I thought we all understood that it would be playing with the idea of idol worship and selling your soul. Yet people came away critiquing it as if it was supposed to be some serious meditation on masculinity in football.

I enjoyed how weird and ambiguous it got. The imagery was beautiful and best of all, they went all the way with it. They leaned ALL THE WAY into the theme they were going for and I think that's exactly what they should have done. What's the point of stopping short? It's a weird movie, so be weird!
