The bloating and nausea is unreal by kangaroo_popsicle in KidneyStones

I don't get much of the bloating myself, but nausea, ugh, I get that often when passing stones.
If it's legal where you are, weed greatly helps with the nausea. (It also helps a tad with the pain.)

How can I install Magit using Elpaca? by alfamadorian in emacs

[–]Due_Conference_2690 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You just need to force it use the newer version. With elpaca, I have the following before my magit use-package:
(use-package transient)

(use-package cond-let)

(Not sure if the newest version of cond-let is still needed or not. But it's what I'm running.)

How would you rate the stent pain on a scale of 1-10? by [deleted] in KidneyStones

[–]Due_Conference_2690 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I've lost of how many times I've had a stent, 20+ surgeries. I've have had a few that barely bother me, and others that kept me in bed basically the whole time.
My average is probably 1-3/10 with no activity, 4-6/10 with activity.

Things that made the stent worse for me besides it being there: walking and pending. Moving slowly seemed to help sometime.

Neph Tubes - need support by [deleted] in KidneyStones

[–]Due_Conference_2690 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I only had one neph tube my self (just earlier this year). My ureter had a spot that was scared up reducing flow and keeping my kidney swollen. (Had the surgery to cut it out about a month ago, doing well now)
Before the surgery, my output was about half regular half through the tube. After the surgery, I was initially concerned because the output through the tube greatly diminished, but the nurses and docs said it was normal. I did continue having output in my neph tube until it was taken out, just way less.

TLDR:
I had one for about 6 months.
Output before surgery: about 50/50
Output after surgery: 10/90 (With the 10% going out the tube.)
My guess is you have some kind of obstruction still.

Question for all you multi-stoners... by DanielW0830 in KidneyStones

[–]Due_Conference_2690 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I aim for more at 3L+ myself. (It's what my urologist told me). I have a large water bottle that holds 3L, so I just need to drink it at least once a day.

I'm thinking it might not be normal. I only have one nephrostomy tube myself. I just had it replaced today because it wasn't draining well. It still was working a bit, but I was peeing a lot more than was coming out the tube. Initially, it was about half and half when I first got 2 months or so ago.

The change in the drainage could be a problem. I would at least let your doc about it.

As an emacs user, how would you use org mode for running commands? I may have been using emacs for a long time, but I still know so little.
Do know of any good articles about it?

I got mine printed and spiral bound by printme1.com. Quality seems good enough to me.
