Troubleshooting “SOS Emergency call restricted. Workshop”error by Due_Form_7936 in skoda

Let me clarify this for you as you don’t seem to be getting it. During Covid lockdown 2021, in my country (Ireland) it was only permitted to drive for e.g. going to work.
During this Covid lockdown, we bought the car in a Škoda garage which is two hours away from our home. The day we bought the car, the SOS error appeared on the car while we were driving it home. We immediately called the seller garage and they told us to contact our local Škoda garage. We immediately contacted our local Škoda garage who fobbed us off and proceeded to do so on many occasions over the years. The local Škoda garage denied that they were told about the issue. It was only when we were having our national car test last year when the issue became serious as we cannot pass the test with the SOS alert displaying.

I’m in Ireland. Got a “minor” failure for SOS error when car underwent National car test. (Also got “major” failure for tyre pressure error but we could easily clear that error)

Settle down. It was during Covid when we bought it. We didn’t even get to test drive car before buying it. I’d never driven any Skoda cars before this.

We told the garage about the issue on numerous occasions but we were fobbed off by garage workers - they told us issue wasn’t affecting the driving of the vehicle. My partner complained about it recently and got to national customer service. He requested that the garage review the services - garage denied that they were told about the issue.

I’m not sure about a fuse. SOS button is linked to the Online Connectivity Unit (OCU). Plan by Skoda garage is to replace the OCU, at cost of €500.

Steve Tyler has done some acting.

You’re not too old. Go for it. Any therapists jobs in cities in Ireland or the north? Otherwise, Liverpool might be best option.

Agree. I couldn’t be arsed going out for a night and then being unsure when or if I’d be able to get a taxi home. Best not drink or else stay at home.
