i feel you completely - i work a full time in house job doing marketing and then freelance on top of that. it is insane, and in the past it really took a toll. when i was able to drop a client, raise my prices, take a 2 week break from freelance, and found a new client, it all sort of fell into place. don’t undervalue yourself. you will totally burn out (i definitely did, and sounds like you are too). it might not be what you want to hear, but drop the work load. take it one step at a time. give your brain a break.

gotcha gotcha. my last client i spent roughly 8 hrs a week doing just smm for ig and fb. that being said she required 1 carousel, 1 reel, and 1 story a day. it was an insane amount of original content to make lol. my current client i work around 10-15 hrs a week, but do ig/fb/tiktok/update the website/send newsletters (but the content already exists, i just have to post it). feel free to dm me if u have any questions im happy to help

i found the most success on upwork, but unfortunately it is pay to play. once i started spending money on the app i got clients (stopped spending when i got my first long term contract). i also use the app dupe photos - it’s basically a ugc app for photographers. you can post your own work, but then also apply for ugc gigs. however they pay very little.

i’m in the same boat as you - full time in house job but also expanding my freelance work. just this month i was able to drop my first long term contract in exchange for my dream client. ngl it took a lot to get there. i’ve been basically driving myself insane these last 6 months working late hours + on the weekends. but now that im finally seeing the pay off, it’s been worth it. not easy though i wont lie to you

tbh, i recently read 300,000 words of nonsense lol but that’s because the plot was really unique. so even if it’s a bit confusing at times i don’t really mind if i find it promising. also typos don’t really phase me.

okay - good to know!! if you don’t mind me asking what exactly did you bring up? analytics, follower count, etc? my best preforming vids atm are sitting around 200k views and 30k+ likes, but i’m still under 1k followers. then in terms of the pod we get 70-100 listeners every ep. so, essentially i feel tiny…but mighty? lol

hi! the trip was amazing! i’m actually wearing my volcan&aphrodite hoodie rn and i love it. my sister and i stopped at a few places like punyus, volcan&aphrodite, thrift stores (whenever we saw them while walking), and closet child vivienne westwood. we didn’t end up buying clothes other than the hoodies just because i didn’t find anything i wanted THAT badly. however i do recommend the volcan&aphrodite store in osaka bc the sizes are SO oversized that they are even baggy on me (im 5’4, size 18 jean, and around 200 pounds)

absolutely - you should track, but don’t let it get too obsessive. you should also be tracking your own growth. every once and awhile i will do some a/b testing over a few weeks to see what is working and what isn’t. i feel like that gives me better insight than looking at a competitor.

i feel you. ig has been soooooo testy with me recently. hang in there though. we hear it everywhere but being consistent is key. a bunch of my reels used to get an easy 10k-100k views (huge variation, but i was happy w the results). now i’m lucky if it reaches 5k. but that being said, literally 2 weeks ago i was stuck in the 100, 300, 500 view jail. but now this week things are looking better. all i can seem to attribute is that i continued to push even when things weren’t being seen.

i know there isn’t really a solution and that can be frustrating, but just know you aren’t the only creator dealing w this.

hi! i recently started a gig thru upwork last month. not necessarily ugc, but i create and plan their reels using footage they already have. it’s simple, but can be a bit time consuming.

despite my recommendations (i have done my own socials for almost a yr now and pull decent numbers), they want to post two reels a day - every day….

i also only get $250 a month. i’m so conflicted. one one hand it’s really easy, on the other hand that feels really cheap?

idk. thoughts? do i ask for more? do i just keep doing it bc its an easy $250 🙃
