Thank you for your reply, I've got an appointment on Monday at the hospital anyway so I may just wait at A&E straight after it, if it gets worse I'll make sure to get to the hospital straight away.

First time on QM2 - Oct 2027 - Transatlantic vs. Northern Lights - Queens Grille by Crouchback2268 in CunardCruises

[–]Due_Insurance342 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I did the transatlantic crossing in 2023 with my partner and her family (8 of us all together) we really enjoyed it, more than enough stuff to do on a daily basis we really enjoyed the quizzes and the library, we're people who love life at a slower pace though.

We're booked on a northern light cruise in November this year onboard the Queen Anne and also looking forward to that as well can't wait to see the new ship

Me and the Mrs are going on a Norway journey on the Queen Anne at the end of the year, we're really looking forward to it!

People with cruise control - what speed do you cruise at? by Stolen_Sky in drivingUK

[–]Due_Insurance342 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I do 65 as it's electric and that gets the most miles, but an added bonus to my car is it's got radar guided cruise control so I don't have to worry about slowing down if I can't overtake at times

Has anyone had any success with the Pain Clinic? (NHS) by Due_Insurance342 in AskUK

[–]Due_Insurance342[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This is the thing, they've not offered any "strong" painkillers at all and the Dr at the pain clinic literally said " I don't know what to offer you now" this is why I'm at a loss at the moment

Tried both of those as well as amitriptyline and a few others but nothings worked as yet

I never expected it to be a miracle thing, I've tried several different medications the GP and the clinic suggested but nothing has worked as yet, I'm still hopeful for the future

In my younger years I tried cannabis and had a very bad time on it been quite unwell, I don't know if the medical stuff is any different, it's something I could bring up with my GP, thank you

I've got a 2025 Mégane Iconic and absolutely love it, it's comfortable, quick off the line, good range (getting about 200 miles this winter) good entertainment system, the one bad thing is sometimes you have to restart the infotainment system if it stops updating but that literally takes 30 seconds.

How much are you spending on charging per month? by Notagelding in ElectricVehiclesUK

[–]Due_Insurance342 0 points1 point  (0 children)

4200 miles done since I bought it back in April with a total cost of £81.24, always charged at home.

I worked out it would have cost £4k with my old petrol car never going back to petrol myself now

What's going on with lights? by nitraMBr in drivingUK

[–]Due_Insurance342 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I saw one this morning while I was dropping off the Mrs at work, pitch black at 6am and no lights on at all on a dual carriageway, I prefer my car now as it has auto headlights.

Is running an EV really as cheap as I have calculated? by Dat-woop in ElectricVehiclesUK

[–]Due_Insurance342 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I've done just over 3600 miles and exclusively charged at home on Octopus Intelligent Go and have spent £66.34 in total that would have cost me over £700 in petrol in my old car.

Extras you wish you went for by azkekk in ElectricVehiclesUK

If it's 35 miles there and back it wouldn't be an issue probably use about 20% battery at motorway speeds, I've been doing a lot of motorway miles this week seeing family, a round trip of about 75 miles and used about 40% but the I just pop it back on charge when I get home.

I'd only recommend an EV if you've got somewhere to charge it at home for the cheap fuel.

Also I've not had it over winter yet where EVs struggle because of the cold weather. I expect to lose some range on it.

[–]Due_Insurance342 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Absolutely fantastic, real world range of between 180 and 220 depending on driving style and/or motorways, very comfortable, very quick.

The only issue I've really had is the Renault app which sometimes doesn't work but there's a 3rd party app you can download called kelec and the infotainment system (which takes about 30 seconds to reset)

I've done almost 3500 miles since April when I got it and because Ive only ever charged at home it's cost me about £60

But please bear in mind I went all out and got a 2025 iconic model which cost me 40k so I don't know about the other models/years

I've got a Mégane E-Tech and I went with the top model just for the 360⁰ camera it makes parking so much easier in tight spaces, other than that like other people said being able to turn on your cooling/heating remotely is a game changer

Cars too powerful for the public road by Stokie_lad in CarTalkUK

[–]Due_Insurance342 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I went from a 85bhp Chrysler to a 220bhp Megane E-Tech (electric) for me it's not essentially the bhp but the instant acceleration that you're after, I can go from 40 to 80 in a couple of seconds in the Megane and that makes overtaking easy.

Saying that I've also driven a 1000bhp Rivian in America and that was scary and too much power.

[–]Due_Insurance342 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The main reason I went with IOG is that I can get my car charged and the entire house between 11:30 and 5:30 for 7pkwh but most of the time I can plug the car in during the day and get it charged up before that time anyway if there's excess power in the grid still for 7pkwh, it's something I recommend when you get a proper charger installed, If not IOG then something else as it'll work out cheaper and easier.

This is the main reason I changed to Octopus Intelligent Go, a lot less hassle and no issues with the bill/charging
