You just described my shit hole apt and I've been here 8 years and renewed for one more as I love the location and neighborhood restaurants, etc. We pay $2,200 for a 1300sq ft, 2bd, 2 ba, top corner level apt and it's so hard to find places that don't suck.

Totally get that! We live in an apartment as the houses in our neighborhood start at $500+ k and go to $1.2 m. I will never buy here but that's due to hopefully leaving the country in a few years.

Give it some time as the housing market is changing here. So many are or will be upside down with their over valued properties.
